WHERE IS YOUR STATEMENT - Linux AVF Connectivity Issues

We're approaching 72 hours now of, what appears to be, the entirety of the Linux userbase unable to connect online after Patch 3.0 was released with the error "Can't connect to server".

So far all we have to work with is screenshots from customer email responses. Do we have an ETR? Do we have any news on this matter?

This game retails for damn close to $100. This is a pressing matter that needs attention.

This is a joke. The game was working perfectly fine under Linux. Even if I wanted to play it on Windows 11 (yuck!), I can't because it crashes every 2 or 3 minutes... PLEASE FIX IT!!!!

100% agree

announcing steamdeck compatibility this year (aka linux) and then releasing with it working makes it look like people are safe to use the game on Linux and Steamdeck

to then revoke Easy Anti Cheat 2 weeks in, (nice coincidence that coincides with the 2 week refund notice) stinks of cheating people out of their money.

a bit harsh of me to say? I’d agree, maybe, however when the company makes no official statement on the issue it’s blatent they don’t care about PR and the player base.

Support got back to me. They responded twice and both times referred me to Steams system requirements page and told me Linux is not on there, and that they don't support it. I'm paraphrasing, but yeah. They basically stole from us.

Not even issuing a public statement on how a subset of their game population is just turned off, seems anti consumer and almost predatory, even if it isn't supported, they knew people were playing on the Deck/Linux. Day 1 it was ranked on Steam as "Deck Playable" and that is why I picked it up.  I'm attempting my refund on Friday, I feel that gives more than enough time for a responsible company to at the very least make a statement on issues with the patch.

At this point we should stop spamming this forum because it is usless. This whole situation demands reporting to ECC (https://www.eccnet.eu/)

It has now been 7 days of this game being unplayable for Linux users, with no official statement from the company.

Still waiting on a reply from Focus because this is starting to feel like either a Helldivers 2 moment, or linux users are being targeted...

Just FYI: if you're in Australia this should be an easy refund.  Steam will sort it out as the game clearly advertised Linux support.

According to this Reddit thread, the devs have addressed the issue. https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/1fvyr6b/space_marine_2_will_work_with_linux_after_next/
