One can enjoy the reward, but not the method. By that logic, you don't have to buy perks at all and only use grey weapons if players want a challenge (hopefully they add some good modifiers for them soon though). These perks make the game easier, so while not needed, you'd be foolish not to take a 40% increase to all stimm usage to mitigate the stimm nerf and amount decrease on higher diffs. Or functionally having infinite ammo as a sniper. And just flat out having 4 constantly active perks regardless is once more, foolish not to acquire. The method with which to obtain them though, is tedious and I have already done this song and dance 6 times already that was fine as those classes were fresh, and now I have to do it 20 more times with classes I already know How I like to play them, but to get back to that point and then some. I now have to do a tedious grind.

And even though this patch 90% overall was a massive W they should be praised for. This is the one blemish I find on an overall stellar patch.

Considering this was what I do believe is a major feature. There was hardly enough time to change it too much aside from some number tweaking. The only thing I hope is the takeaway from this. Most people do not want to do something like this again. I still will play and enjoy the game overall. But, it is very hampered by now having to essentially be gimped for the next little while whilst I grind back up to max level multiple times across 6 classes.

Yeah I agree here. It sucks they can't change it but your point is valid. Still a great game regardless.

Last I checked, pushing a boulder up a hill only to have it roll back down, to then push it back up over and over again was supposed to be a punishment. Not a reward XD.

If you didn't want to push a boulder up a hill why would you do it, and then complain about it?  That seems dumb.

I don't want to. But not having 4 active perks at all times in tandem with the normal ones would be foolish to not do so, especially for some of the offered perks on some classes being straight up upgrades. I have said before, one can enjoy the rewards, but not enjoy the method(s) to obtain them. Sure, I don't need to have technically infinite ammo on Sniper. But having that certainly makes things easier by making me more powerful by not needing to pick up ammo someone else can use, like the Heavy who doesn't have any (useful) perks like that. It's like telling someone who is complaining we are doing too much damage and the game is too easy, saying to them, "Just use weaker weapons. Or don't use/buy any perks when you prestige."

People enjoy having rewards. The path to earning those rewards shouldn't be rife with tedium, especially when it's supposed to be a game.

Tedium we have already done once to get to 25 in the first place. When they could have just let us keep the perks, then at least I would be grinding sure, but I'd be doing it at 25. With a complete build and set of perks/weapons that I can experiment with. Overall as I have also said, great patch everywhere else (aside from connectivity and bug issues).
