at 180+ hours and I stand behind the idea that we need better health regen I don't find it enjoyable when little guants gun me down because my shield takes ten full centuries to regen I don't want the game to be too easy but on the easiest difficulties the more casual people struggle and on the highest difficulties the difficulty feels cheap to me, I find the massive waves satisfying to get through, I'm not looking for an easy win I just want some of the frustration of playing to go away.

which is why I say please lower the period of time that it takes for your shield to start regenerating, and add some small health regen would be nice they could do it like dragon ball fighterz where contested health wouldn't drain and would be the extent of the regeneration on top of all other methods of recovery.

I'm going bump every single thread that bring up the lackluster health mechanic. Health is a slow burning wick, in it's current state it feels almost like it doesn't need to be there, it needs combat utility or it will continue to be the problematic mechanic for melee combat.

Bump.

One of the problems with thousand sons and tyranids is that the minoris types are reversed. The ranged minoris of thousand sons are mostly weak snipers while the melee enemies carry shields and are harder to kill to get your life and armor back. Tyranids have weak melee enemies that give you armor and health faster.

The vanguard ability to regain life on majoris executions is in my opinion a bit to strong because it gives you a lot of health and the ruthless misions get queit easy with a melta and the abilty. But I agree that most classes dont even have a good ability to get contested health back. Especially melee focused classes in thousand son missions.

facts, and I think they fixed that bug where that one perk full healed you when you shot into a group with the melta gun, it also worked with the plasma incinerator or any weapon with multi-kill potential.

There needs to be a Health regain system. Contested Health is not a good system and the armor is like paper.

Contested Health runs out too quickly, you can easily got into a stunlock and lose all your health. And let's say you fought greatly but right before all the enemies are killed you took an unlucky hit or two. Now you're just going to lose that health because there isn't any enemy left around to fill the contested health. This is not a good mechanic at all.

If we could gain some amount of health via executions, that would at least give us the chance to fill our health back in the next encounter. Stims are(as they should be) scarce in higher difficulties and we shouldn't have to rely on them this much.

Can run substantial without really going down most of the time get better at your melee weapons combos and work in gunstrikes and executions to keep armor up and to regain contested health

honestly i'd not see a problem with the health system if the bug that was on Heavy and Bulwark the 1st week or so of the game where when they changed Weapon set(even to the same weapon set) at the Arsenals that are in set places in the operations it full healed them rather than remove that but i think they should've made it a feature of the game but other than that i like the combat loop for healing in the PvE and regen in PvP makes sense if there is no stims or executions

i do agree that contested health feels like it goes down fast even when i'm running Bulwark with the Squad perk that makes it fade 50% slower but with the perk feels like it should be the norm imo

I like how the Primarch Power Fantasy mod on Nexus Mods deals with this.  You get health and armor back on kills.

https://www.nexusmods.com/warhammer40000spacemarine2/mods/93

  • you can get some armor on hitting/killing enemies, more with melee/headshot
  • you can get some life on killing specials/elites/bosses, more with finishers

I think this is my favorite part of that particular mod, to be honest.
