More Cross Class Weapons

I've absolutely loved the game so far however I feel like there should be more cross class weapons, for example:


~~All Secondaries should be cross class, i mean why can't I take a Heavy Bolt Pistol as a Sniper or Heavy? Or a Plasma Pistol as a Tactical or Assault?~~ ignore pls


Why can't I take a primary weapon as an Assault or a melee weapon as a Heavy?


Why can't I take a Thunder Hammer as a Bulwark or tactical? Or a Power Sword as an Assault or Vanguard?


Now don't get me wrong, I know balancing is a major part of the reason but honestly? having gotten to level 16 as the heavy i can confidently say I feel genuinely underpowered at times during the higher levels of game play, immensely so to be honest(Like when I either have bots or lower levelled/new people joining my Substantial difficulty mission forcing me to try and keep them alive), especially when a large horde of enemies appears as I'm forced to sit back and take pot shots with my Heavy Bolter and Plasma Pistol while simultaneously praying to the God Emperor of Mankind that multiple warrior's and Gaunts don't get past my team mates and that they aren't downed. Because while yes, the Heavy DOES have a melee attack it's down right useless in most situations as if I get swarmed? I have to hope to high heaven that my team mates can get to me in time while I desperately spam the charged stomp.


Now as I've said in other posts: I know and understand balancing is a major part of it, and I'm no game developer so don't know how difficult stuff like this actually is. I'm simply voicing an idea and hoping Focus and Sabre see it.

To clear up any confusion about what I mean, I'm saying that, in the spirit of lore and table top accuracy, the classes should all have access to the combat knife, the Bulwark should have access to a thunder hammer(which would be lore accurate as for astartes not wearing Terminator Armour a thunder hammer is typically paired with a storm shield to cover for the lack of defence), The classes should all have access to the HBP and PP.


Also, to clear up any misconceptions about the Heavy, I'd like to point out I've been playing since September 5th, and am lvl 25 on Heavy(i was lvl 16 at the time of posting this idea originally), as such I can say with confidence that while YES the Heavy's stomp is good at clearing enemies off of you it's a CHARGED heavy attack meaning it's slow and speed is key if you're being swarmed, so parrying and the stomp will only get you so far before you get overwhelmed by both minoris and majoris enemies.


Now yes this may be a skill issue on my part or a poor choice in primary weapon as those are definitely both possibilities, but I'd say that I've gotten pretty good at parrying and gun striking, and ammo conservation as the Heavy so I figured I'd add that I felt kinda underpowered in MELEE as the big boi, outside of melee he's an absolute beast that excels at CC and Boss shredding.

I feel like the instigator carbine should be available to sniper and the bolt carbine should be available to the vanguard.

i'd like to see the heavy bolt pistol and knife on tactical and the plasma pistol on assault, i'd also like to see the flamer on heavy

I just wanna see the chainsword get added to sniper so we can actually get a melee assassin with the perks they give you. Combat knife is great but it's low damage and shit crowd control makes those options alot less appealing to me. I hope to the god emperor the devs hear our plea brother.

I was wondering ever since the game came out why the Bulwark can't have heavy bolt pistol as a sidearm? i mean having only plasma or normal bolt pistol the choice is pretty automatically always plasma. Even with the heavy bolt pistol the plasma would probably stay the stronger choice what with the ability to stop calls for reinforcements. Yet, still its a class that only gets a sidearm so why can't the other option be the Heavy bolt pistol? This was just an odd choice...

Heavy feeling underpowered is, not to be rude, more of a you thing than a balance thing. The stomp is useful to clear the space around you but it is not your main option against hordes, parry is, and this is true for literally every class. One parry on any enemy attacking you clears the enemies in a half circle in front of you, and two of Heavy's weapons are absolute CC monsters. If you're having that much trouble with crowds, adapt your playstyle, or you might just need more practice at the game. Heavy having a melee weapon would shatter their balance, and they're plenty strong as is. Assault having a primary would similarly be silly, and Bulwark literally doesn't have enough hands for the Thunder Hammer, ignoring the fact that it'd make them an absolute monster. Could some restrictions be loosened and some weapons shifted around? Maybe, but it's a delicate balancing act and they're also going to add more weapons in the future. Should they throw balance and logic out the window like the first post is suggesting? Most definitely not, that'd be a terrible move.

I agree that more weapons should be shared. Like seriously does the tactical alone need to horde a whole armory worth of primary wepaons????

I'm seconding this. Honestly I'd just be happy with the carbines being standardized across the three riflemen classes (either by consolidating them into a unified Carbine or proliferating the Instigator and Occulus to Sniper and Tac). Heavy and Bulwark with HBP would go hard as well, since HBP hits a nice balance between damage output and ammo efficiency. Tac needs no help and Heavy really doesn't either, but the big man deserves big iron and I will die on that hill.

Heavy can't take melee because his whole thing is perma-carrying what is usually a temporary, non-reloadable, high powered gun. It's a huge advantage having a reloadable multi-melta. The sidearm is perfect because he can use it without dropping the heavy weapon in his other hand. The only way he could use melee would be in the same hand he uses for the pistol, or make the heavy weapon awkwardly vanish. IMO the heavy weapon is a fair trade, though maybe they could improve the heavy weapon melee moveset.

I would love to see some additional weapon options as well. I would definitely be taking the power sword on my tactical and assault builds.
