Hello everyone!
You’re new to Focus Together? Don’t worry, everything you need to know about it can be found right here!
First of all, what is Focus Together? Focus Together is a platform designed to bring together the various Focus Entertainment game communities, to accompany users and provide them with a great experience that doesn't stop when they create an account or finish the game they’re playing.
Focus Together’ main objective is to build a global community that will stand throughout time. To achieve this, the platform will allow players to do a lot of different things, such as link Steam accounts, get rewards, read the latest news about Focus’ games, chat with fellow community members about their favorite games, but also take part in surveys, AMAs, contests, report bugs, create tutorials.
Every single functionality described here will also be shown through images, starting with the Steam account linking.
How to link your Steam account to Focus Together? 🎮
To link your Steam account, click on your username and then on “Settings”
It will redirect you to this page. Click on “Account linking” :
Now, click on “Connect” :
You will be asked to enter
your Steam credentials, do it, and then this page should appear :
Click on “Sign In”, then this should redirect you to this page (shown below).
Your Steam account is now linked to your Focus Together account! But you must ask yourself… Why should I do that? What will this bring to me? The answer is simple. By linking your accounts, you get rewards, such as badges and titles based on the games you own and the achievements you won while playing them, or tasks you completed while doing actions related to Focus Together (like creating topics, or uploading tutorials…). That way you can customize your profile and how you appear on the website, to make your presentation unique.
How to customize your profile? 🎨
Here’s a little example of the Focus Together badge “Profiler“.
You will earn this badge right after you link your
accounts. You can find it by clicking on your username, and then “Profile”.
You’ll see these options. Click first on “Rewards” and then on “Badges”.
Then you will see a lot of options. You can sort them by games, in this case “Universes” so the game or the series of
which you want to see the badges, and “States” where you can watch either the
unlocked ones or the locked ones. This also means that you can pick a
“Universe” AND a “State”, that way you can
take a look at the locked Space Marine 2 badges, or the unlocked Atlas Fallen
badges. For now, let’s click on “Unlocked”.
This will allow you to take a look at every badge you unlocked so far. Here are mine.
Every badge has a “rarity” you
unlock when you complete tasks, missions, or win achievements. My “Profiler” badge is Obsidian,
the second-to-last rarity, because I completed tasks affiliated with this
badge, and I need to complete the last one before I get the “Elite” rarity and
color. The higher the rank of the badge is, the harder the achievement is to
complete.
To equip it on your Profile, go back to the top of
the “Profile” page, and click on one of the 5 icons here. As you can see, I
equipped my five badges already. To replace one, simply click on it and
select “replace your favorite badge”. You will see the badges you have. In my case, I only
have these 5, so you’ll see the same thing.
For the profile picture, it’s basically the same thing, except you have to click here on “Avatars” and you have the same options (per universe, or state) to sort them. Here are the ones I’ve unlocked so far. To equip one, simply select “Use” next to the one you want. I chose Evil West’s basic profile picture.
For the titles it’s the same as for the avatars. You click on “Titles” and pick your avatar by clicking “Use” next to the one you want to use. It’s also possible to sort them by Universe or State. I chose to show the ones I had unlocked.
And we are done for profile customization! Now let’s take a look at the other functionalities of Focus Together.
How to read and respond to news and topics posted on
Focus Together? ✍️
Focus Together is also a hub for every news related to Focus games. You
can go back to the home page by clicking the “Focus Together” logo on the
top left (just in case, it looks like this).
And you will be able to see the latest news on our games below the “Featured” space. At the time of writing, it was Space Marine 2 because it’s the next release, but by the time you’re reading this it might be something else. The latest news will appear like this. What happens when you click on one? Let’s click on “Take a Behind the Scenes Tour with the Developers” as highlighted.
The news is there! You can read it, and click the various links. Below, there’s a “reply” function if people want to comment.
Each “Universe” has its own News and Forums sections, as shown below. You can see every Universe by clicking the arrow on the left of your screen, highlighted here in red.
Here’s the result right below it, right after you click on the little arrow. You can see it’s backwards, and you just have to click again on it to make the banner disappear (I’ve highlighted it again just in case). It shows I am on the Space Marine 2 Universe, in the “News” section. You can also see several other sections, including “Forums”, “Bugs”, “Encyclopedia” and “Store”.
Let’s click on “Forums” (right above "News").
The forum itself has a lot of subsections. “Welcome” is very important when you click on a forum for the first time, as it’s necessary to read the Code of Conduct before you post anything. Any post breaking the rules will be removed, so please make sure you read them to avoid having any topics deleted by the staff. To create a topic, click on a subsection first. Let’s click on “General”. To create a topic, click on “Create Thread” in blue.
You can type your title and your text, create a poll, as well as customize it by using “Bold” or “Italic” (the B and the I below “your title”). When you’re done, click “Send”.
How to share your ideas for a game? 💡
With Focus Together, you can also submit your ideas to improve a game, whether it’s for a specific functionality or the entire game itself. To do this, click on the banner to the left, and select a game with this section. For this tutorial, I’ll use SnowRunner. Click on the Star symbol and then on “Ideas” to select SnowRunner and this subsection.
Once you’ve done that, you’ll see this.
- To submit an idea, click on "Create".
- Then enter your title in the box in the middle.
- When you’re done, click on “Description”. After this, you’ll be able to write a description for your idea.
- Then click on “Categories”. This step will allow you to select the categories that suit your idea the most. You can choose whichever you want.
- When you’re done with everything, click on “Save”.
And there you go, your idea has been submitted, people can now support it, give their opinion on it and the developers will be able to see it!
How to report the bugs you encountered while playing one of our games? 🚧
Focus Together also allows you to report the bugs you encountered while playing. To facilitate it, we’ll stay on the SnowRunner page. That way you only have to click the “Bugs” section.
- Then you can click on “Create”. You can now enter a description of your bug. Now choose a category and click on it to see the subcategories. Once you’re done, click on “Continue”.
- Then select the brand, the right platform and the version of the game and click on "Continue".
- After that, you’ll be asked to describe your bug step by step, but it’s optional. When you’re done, click on “Continue”.
- You will also get the option to add files such as MP4 or WEBM videos to show the bug directly, but then again, it’s skippable. After you uploaded your files, click on “Continue”.
- Next option is the same as just before, but instead it’s for screenshots. You can skip it, too. When you’re done, click on “Continue”.
- The next and final step is the preview, after which you can publish your report. When you’re done, just click on “Publish”
How to post a tutorial? 📖
The next feature is the “Tutorials” section. We’ll
stay (again) in the SnowRunner Universe.
- Click on “Tutorials” and then “Game Tutorials”. You select a section, and then a subsection.
- You will now be asked to put a link. I’ve put the SnowRunner S13 Trailer as an example. As you can see, the site will automatically put the information such as the title and the description. Don’t worry, you can edit it!
- Click “Save” and you’re done!
And now you’re ready to be a Focus Together expert, as you know everything you need to know about the platform. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them and we’ll answer.
Have fun!
