Hello,

Insurgency Sandstorm has been my go to game for about 2 years now and I have found that the audio has been the trickiest element to fine tune and get used to. I am having trouble finding the right balance between the finer more naturally quiet sound cues like footsteps and in game proximity character voice lines with the at times overwhelmingly loud effects like gunshots, explosions, and the most egregious in my opinion being game generated radio voice comms ("They are at A!!"/B/etc).

The gunshots and explosions I have no issue with as they are more or less realistically very loud and these elements really up the the engagement and immersion I experience within the game.  The game generated radio comms on the other hand I find to be so deafeningly loud (scaled with and in proportion to all other effects) that i am temporarily deafened to all soft to medium sound cues and am often pulled out of my immersion as it takes my focus away from whatever my objective was and am reacting to the radio now with annoyance and frustration. The peaks of the shouts really f with my hearing, especially playing Domination where people contest obj's constantly.

I have hounded the internet in an attempt to equalise the shouting over the radio and have been unsuccessful in my efforts to find a solution. I'd rather not download third party audio software.

I think a slider similar to the voice chat slider would be a great idea for the in game radio comms as you'd be able to turn down your radio irl and i'd be pulled out of my immersion less, leading to a more satisfying gaming experience.

Has anyone had success taming the radio comms? I'm curious to know if I have overlooked any audio settings.

Cheers
