In the Demo, there is already the ability to set an automatic route for convoys.
What I would like to see is the ability to instruct a vehicle to travel to a destination on its own.
Let me explain: Lets say you are building a road across a river. You need lots of sand. So, you automate the dumptruck to go get the sand.
Step 1: Start a recording or designate a route using the existing tools, from the construction site to the sand pit
Step 2: Tell it to fill with sand
Step 3: Tell it to drive back to construction site
Step 4: End recording.
If something goes wrong, such as a obstacle, a crash, rollover, whatever, the recording breaks, and the truck stops. You have to go fix it. Either fix the route, or fix the road. If it shows up with a mostly empty bed, due to rough roads, then you have random piles of sand around to go fix.
If it goes right, you dump a load manually, start the macro, jump into the dozer, level the new sand, and when you are done, the dump truck is sitting there with a new load of sand to drop. No more boring driving back and forth 100 times, just to get to the fun part of leveling.
This also could be used to move multiple vehicles to a destination. Assuming the vehicles are in working shape, set a route, and send them off. It works? get all the vehicles to the destination. It fails, you have a pileup of wrecked vehicles to go sort out. New challenges, new fun, less monotony of driving the same route 5 times.
