After watching the RoadCraft trailer, I didn’t see anything about a Fuel System or Manual Gearbox, so I wanted to suggest adding them if they’re not already in the game. Players love these features because they make driving more fun and realistic, adding extra depth and control.

Fuel System:

  • Realistic Fuel Consumption – Fuel use based on engine load, terrain, and driving style
  • Refueling Options – Gas stations, jerrycans, and refueling trucks
  • Fuel Types & Efficiency – Gasoline, diesel, and electric charge, with different consumption rates
  • Weight Impact – A full tank slightly affects handling and performance

Manual Gearbox:

  • Manual & Auto Mode – Players can switch between automatic and manual shifting
  • Realistic Gears – Low-range for off-roading, high-range for speed
  • Shifting Options – Sequential (paddle shifters) or H-pattern
  • Gearbox Damage – Incorrect shifting could stall or damage the engine

THIS.
If the fuel options are too complicated then at least, for the love of god, give us manual transmission. That is biggest gripe I have with Snowrunner, the automatic transmission is too stupid it often shifts while climbing which leads to a stall and then back to 1st gear.

I would love to see a manual transmission, shifting with the H-Shifter in Mudrunner was great.

I 100% agree with you! The automatic transmission in SnowRunner can be incredibly frustrating, especially during tough climbs. It’s like it has no sense of timing, shifting at the worst possible moments and killing momentum. A manual option would give us so much more control and make the driving experience way more satisfying. Screenshot 2025-02-02 223001.png

Even more realistic. I took a truck with a manual transmission, switching to automatic transmission only replacing the node itself!

Demo says no.

In core every function of the transmission is in the game. I can press a button to go into low mode, press a button for 4WD, press a button for diff locks. But not gonna lie, the way it was handled in mudrunner/snowrunner where you would wiggle the analog stick between the different modes felt cool. Even if it was annoying when the car would stall when you tried to start driving, so you had to shift in the other mode and when the car would move for a bit, you then could shift back into that low mode (or whatever it was which kept the engine stalling). But still, it gave a better machine connection and it felt more like you are enforcing your will onto the machine. Your hard worked shifting (meaning: moving the analog stick) brought the mighty machine to climb that mighty mountain.... But i digress...

Steam Tags.. "Simulation" "Vehicle Simulation" "Realistic" .....

Can give the Player a costum settings menu before opening a Game as in Snowrunner, then everyone is served.

could just adapt the gear/fuel mechanics as in Snowrunner?Yeah,...... it is supposed to be a "different experience and focus" but those basic elements of "vehicle simulation" should be in the game i think.

and as i read in the ratings for the demo on steam, and here, and in the steam community hub.. alooot of negative or suggestive feedback includes these here suggested elements here.

So its a simulataion game about world rebuilding with construction vehicles based on the snowrunner engine but basicly have no simulation for said vehicles, except forward and back and its specal functions. you have taken away a core aspects that can makes this type of  game fun, no damage, no gearbox, no fuel and they thought ah people will be happy about this, I hope that these thing will be present in the full relaese as devs it was a core aspect that made snowrunner so popular. Have none of these means you have no challenge when operating the vehicles while driving or preforming jobs through roadcraft maps, the only challnge to be presented right now would be logistics and thats it. its feels way to arcadey for this type of game presented.
