Guide on the process hes describing

In Windows 11, you can allow firewall connections by process name using the Windows Defender Firewall settings. Here's how to do it:

  1. Open Windows Security:
    • Click on the Start menu and select Settings (the gear icon).
    • Go to Privacy & security on the left pane.
    • Click on Windows Security.
    • Then click on Firewall & network protection.
  2. Advanced Settings:
    • In the Firewall & network protection window, scroll down and click on Advanced settings. This opens the Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security window.
  3. Inbound Rules:
    • In the left pane, select Inbound Rules. This is where you can create rules to allow connections.
  4. New Rule:
    • In the right pane, click on New Rule….
    • Select Program and click Next.
  5. Program Path:
    • Choose This program path: and browse to the executable file (.exe) of the application you want to allow through the firewall. Click Next.
  6. Allow the Connection:
    • Select Allow the connection and click Next.
  7. Profile Selection:
    • Choose when the rule applies (Domain, Private, Public). It’s usually best to select all three for most applications. Click Next.
  8. Name the Rule:
    • Give your rule a name and, optionally, a description. Click Finish.
  9. Outbound Rules (if needed):
    • If you also need to allow outbound connections, repeat the same steps in the Outbound Rules section.

After completing these steps, the specified process should be allowed through the Windows Firewall. Make sure to test the application to ensure it’s working as expected

You'll have to locate where the game is installed in order to access these programs

Main thing could be easy cheat which is commonly bypassed by wemod or other hacks.

Step 2

Delete the Warhammer 40000 space marine 2 configuration file

then reverify the game files through steam.

this AVF issue affects all Linux and thus Steamdeck users and there doesn’t seem to be a fix either

I believe this is mostly for Windows users who are affected by the avf error

You believe wrong. All Proton users are disconnected, just look up the forum posts.
And adding rules to your firewall isn't a fix but a problem in itself.

Yeah its pretty annoying. But, the game is great so I'll give it a few days before I request a refund. Maybe they'll fix it sooner than later.

This needs a hotfix, it is obviously a mess up on their end.

Someone posted an email reply from saber regarding this issue that they are aware and its because linux isnt a supported platform for this game. Not sure if real or fabricated but lack of communication from the devs is worrying.

If it's not a supported system then why does this forum allow you to report steamdeck as part of raising a ticket

Please retitle this to include Windows only.

I don't want the Devs thinking the community has solved their Linux /steamdeck fuck up for them.
