What is the replaying of this game?

I saw the developers mention the replayability of this game. First, I’m not going to discuss level classes and guns, as those are basic features that inherently support replayability. However, I’m curious about how the replayability of Space Marine 2 differs from other games on the market, beyond just swapping character models. For instance, in Darktide, the replayability system kept me playing for 668 hours because the maps consistently introduced new and random challenges. So, what does this game offer?

I loved Darktide’s random challenges, especially the challenge maps with only Carapace Armoured enemies and no ammo crates—I absolutely loved that! And yes, it was tough, requiring teamwork or a class that could carry the team. I’m not pleased with the developers saying that having four Space Marines will lead to overkill and make it too easy. I’d like to ask, why are there only a few mid-tier enemies and no serious threats to hinder players? For example, L4F had enemies that could drag players away, making them unable to respond, and Darktide had those annoying dogs and soldiers who shot nets to trap players.

I’ve looked up Tyranid enemies on the wiki and saw that there are Tyranid types capable of killing or severely disrupting players during missions. I’m puzzled about where they’ve disappeared to

If you’re going to showcase that the highlight of Space Marine's PVE is the AI, which is Hive Mind, I hope it will include both offensive and defensive tactics, as well as surprising intelligence from the AI

Most players, both in general forums and idea threads, are concerned that the PVE co-op isn't engaging enough to keep them playing for long periods. That's why players are constantly coming up with ideas to improve PVE, as you can see from the idea threads, which are filled with concepts for PVE modes. I've been following the idea thread since there were only 40 ideas, and now there are over 800—yes, I've read almost all of them. I've noticed that players want to expand and enhance PVE maps, add more players, introduce endless difficulty levels, or implement various additional systems in PVE that are feasible and not too costly. At the very least, it wouldn't eat up a billion-dollar profit margin—haha. I believe that within a week of the game's release, players will start to get bored with the PVE mode. Improvements and fixes are necessary; if delayed, players—both fanboys and newcomers—will leave the game. Personally, I'm also concerned about the PVE mode. It looks appealing the first time, but by the second, third, fourth, and fifth times, it starts to feel incredibly dull. Yes, I’ve watched almost all the YouTube videos showing the two PVE maps, so I can confidently say it gets boring after the first few rounds. The reality is that the hardest difficulty level in PVE right now is too easy. Experienced players will start to get bored after just 5-6 hours because it’s simply not challenging enough.

its early days of course but I have the same questions about replayability, largely due to the resources required to consistently create content that is self-supporting or sustainable and has sufficient rewards to keep people coming back....when you start to dive into the detail things start to get complicated: new cosmetics wont keep people interested indefinitely, new gameplay mechanisms, new maps and modes will, but that is where it gets tricky:

PvE wise, the Operations missions will likely take time to develop, they need writing because they have objectives, a narrative, perhaps some environmental additions etc so they wont be pumping out 4 or 5 new Ops missions every month, and the rate that players will churn through them needs to be considered...we're always going to be sat waiting for new missions..

New Campaigns - it goes without saying that these take a loooong time to develop...they aren't going to be coming around quickly, much more likely on a quarterly or even 6 month basis if that.

Horde mode has a lot of potential, but again, going further and deeper into the missions means new rewards and possibly new enemies will need to be implemented to keep things fresh and retain that sense of risk/reward that keeps players coming back, again, all of these will have lead times as they need designing and implementing.

PvP is very map dependent which like Ops missions require design. . . anyone who thinks a really great map can be churned out in a few days needs to think again, so these wont be churned out every week.

I think if you look at the variety of actual game-play elements there is the potential to keep people hooked in, but that requires a real investment from the devs, and the question is how do they make that viable from a business perspective.

I'm one of those you speak of. If gameplay is good and I mean GOOD then it dulls the senses when it comes to doing the same thing over and over again but only so much. Everything I've seen of gameplay the AI isn't looking great as far as IQ goes.

The bread and butter of this game will be its environments and how quickly they can be freshened. We're not going to see a new mode til Horde which honestly I think is waay too late being chalked for next year, so 6 months? There's only going to be two things to do after teh campaign OPs and PvP and if you don't like one of those modes then content is very thin.

Judge a game by what you see not what Devs tell you to see. I hope I'm wrong I've waited over a decade for a second installment and I'm sure I will play this game to death, but once I've had my fill will I have racked 3k hours like Skyrim, Warframe and Dota? or 100 hours and simply walk away having my fill.

If we reference why MOBA PvP players never get bored playing all day, it's probably because they constantly encounter new players and the lane positions keep changing. I'm not worried about PvP in Space Marine 2, but I am more concerned about the PvE aspect. I'll wait and see next month and provide an update.

Creating a campaign involves a significant budget, but look at Helldivers 2—its PvE content remains fresh and the community is very enthusiastic. PvE should be challenging but not boring, always providing a challenge. Yes, I’m referring to how it was when it first launched. This is a small developer funded by Sony, and they crafted Helldivers 2, which sold 10 million copies in no time. I hope the developers will look at the direction of Helldivers or other legendary PvE games and incorporate their strengths into their own game. Even if they don't look at other developers, just reading the lore and playing tabletop games should give them an idea of how to approach PvE.

Yes, if the developers end up making Space Marine 2 follow the same path as WWZ and Evil Dead—having great cutscenes but lacking creativity and passion in gameplay—I swear they’ll only sell one season of the battle pass. PvE should receive the highest level of enthusiasm, not just a relaxed update every three months

Developers need to focus fully on Space Marine 2. I swear that Space Marine 2 will be the highest-grossing game among all the games developed by Saber

I think people are quick to judge without even playing. The access so far has been limited to part of the campaign and 2 ops missions. Yes they are know doubt bored of the same content.

I will wait till the full release before making any decisions on repayable content

nobody is judging, like you said the game hasn't released yet, but you can make assumptions or recommendations based on tried and tested principles and from your own experience in similar games with similar game modes and how that influences replayability.

When the game releases, after time, you'll know whether those assumptions were valid or not. At this stage we've been invited by the developer to suggest IDEAS based on those previous experiences and there is real, tangible value in doing that and helping to inform the development process.

What I'm interested in is not the campaign, because games like this don't highlight campaigns like Ubisoft, Baldur's Gate, or Dragon Age, or Skyrim. The selling point of this game is the PVE. Yes, the PVE worries me a million times more than the campaign lol
