Dear Devs....there is a reason we asked for a FOV Slider with Ultrawide Support...

When I first read the Dev Post about the most recent patch I was utterly dumbfounded when they said they would of course be adding Ultrawide Support by the end of September, and then in the same breath said the FOV Slider was not something they were looking into because "cinematic experience, blah blah blah" 

Look, I've seen the game on 32:9 with FOV modded, I get it, most of your cutscenes are janked if you gave people a wide FOV because characters and objects moving off screen just stand there on the edge of the screen because you didn't make the game with Ultrawide in mind. I've played through the campaign two different times with friends, I don't care, I'll take that "silly" looking onscreen walk off of characters over what you just left us with. 

After changing the way the game works with mods I can no longer play Operations with my family & friends because I'm locked to this horrible FOV those of us in 32:9 are stuck with. (I'm sure 21:9 is zoomed in also.) 

These kind of decisions really make it feel like you guys (the devs) didn't bother at all to look at what other people outside of 16:9 experience when you talk down the importance of a FOV slider. 

I do, sincerely, appreciate you adding Ultrawide support, but with the change to mods & being able to go online (including private lobbies) we are now stuck with a half baked support patch where our cameras are PAINFULLY zoomed in at all times. Imagine trying to hustle higher difficulty missions THIS zoomed in ALL the time. It's atrocious.

This is the "standard" FOV that 16:9 users get. As much as I enjoy playing the few operations we have with family and friends, being this zoomed in is basically borderline unplayable and entirely miserable.
Please add a FOV slider if you're going to block mods from fixing it.

Remember they didn't want UW players having an advantage in PVP, so the only logical option was to give them a disadvantage in all game modes instead.


I honestly feel we can't see the previous warning signs we used to get when something was behind us or even notice things behind us as quick. Also, don't aim down sniper scope unless you want to have the top of it chopped off...
