Assault in PvP is broken

Assault needs a serious nerf in PvP in its current state.

There is no REAL counter to its ground pound spam, which is how every player plays it. Only one who can somewhat dodge it, is Vanguard (highly timing- dependent) and others can only keep far and clear from it or position himself in the area, where Assault cannot do it effectively.. Which are usually not areas of interest or near them.

Now, if you are unlucky to meet Assault in fight, his ground pound spam basically keeps you stunlocked, and again, you lost the fight against him. 


"Just dodge" - Not possible, area of effect is way too big for dodging without Vanguard grappling hook.


It should tell something if really low level (lvl1-6) players get really good stats in game against more seasoned and high level players.

"But its fun to play assault now" - Well anyone else isnt having fun to play against so broken class.

Brother, you need to look around, the thunder hammer only kills if it flies straight at you, if you roll it won't kill you with one hit, if you know there are enemy Assault, be on your guard. There are both open and closed areas of interest in the tunnels, good luck to the Assault flying in them, you'll easily shoot him down . This is a high reward, high risk class, no need to nerf it, it will be unplayable. In general, I think that all heavy attacks should stun for some time, preventing from shooting but allowing you to fight back in close combat.

Yes, I know it doesnt kill with one hit if you roll. Damage isnt necessarily the problem, Its the spam of that ability. There is no escape from that. Even if you roll, it takes just two hits and while you get hit once, time to kill is so long, you just cant kill him while he already is using ability that second time. Assault either has too many ability uses, or it is way too fast to "reload" ability. It actually would be balanced, if assault had just 2 times ability usage. Then it really would be high risk high reward, You would have to think if using only ground pound, or leave the 1 ability usage to escape.

And as I stated above, only real counter is positioning (for example, tunnels, as you said) but its really dependent on gamemode (hardpoint style gamemode). And thats basically what you said also.Yesterday, i literally saw lvl1 player with lvl1 assault doing really well, almost dominating the match.


EDIT: I truly and honestly appreciate your counter- post, brother. It is good to get some conversations going on. PvP in general feels really forgotten by the devs (IMO). Id like to have Eternal war to be truly "eternal" in this game's longetivity.

​Well, PvP is pretty late on the roadmap, I don't remember exactly Season 2 or 3, but so far they are moving exactly along it (most likely this is due to the kind of finances and how many hours of work they initially allocated to support the game according to the estimate) and although it seems abandoned, the balance in it is quite good. Look how many complaints there were that the Assault is unplayable, in general, to be honest, I heard complaints about almost all classes, both the fact that they are OP and the fact that they are unplayable, but in my opinion, everything plays, it's just that some things suit your style and some don't. And it turns out that you yourself understand how to beat the class. For some reason I am sure that that 1 level Assault is just a second account of someone who has already played, or he is damn good

Numitor here, brothers. First, le me thank you for the valuable feedback you both have on the Assault class in the PVP mode.  I get both of your point of view, as I know how annoying it is when some player on the other team is spamming a skill that blocks you. On the other hand, a good understanding of the arena will prove useful when handling spamming players. Nevertheless, I will forward this feedback  top our dev team, for due consideration. But keep in mind that the PVP changes will come in 2025, however, I cannot confirm a date for them. If you have any more questions, brothers, don't hesitate to post them here. Courage and Honor.

I've played assault quite a bit. Here are some tips to counter the ground slam:


1. Use cover. Put a wall or roof between you and the assault and you're good.

2. Shoot them out of the sky. Depending on what class you main, this could be easier said than done.

3. It's a team game, play off your team and don't make yourself a juicy target. If I'm playing assault and I see 2+ enemies in a tight grouping, I'm going to find a way to slam and punish that group.


There's  a bunch of annoying and things from other classes (*cough*stealth/sub sniper*cough*) I encounter when I play assault but that doesn't mean I will immediately call for a nerf. Just be smarter, man. Good luck.
