Can we have terminator class for pve and pvp in future. Is it even real ?

I doubt it. Only class we could need that wouldn't interfere with roles of other classes would be Apothecary - which was greenlit in ideas section but no idea when it comes in - and Techmarine - which I would love to see in Horde mode, allowing us to set some turrets or something. But terminator... meh.

Ok, look, Apothecary is a useless unit in this game where we have health regen and additonaly stim packs in pve. All this together would make the TTK just too long and imbalance the game both in pve and pvp. Terminator class wouldn't interfere with any class  or imbalance the game because , let's be honest, the heavy class isn't really that heavy in terms of armour or fire power. Terminator would stand out clearly in both of these departments + we already have chaos terminator models and animations in game, so that would be a sin and a waste  not to use them.

I mean, it can be done of course. As a fun factor in the game I wouldn't say no to it for sure :)

I can imagine it as a unit with 4 armour cells + more HP. 

Maybe some special weapons to it like:

- Chainfist

- Assault Cannon

- Storm bolter etc.

Special ability would be maybe Rocket barrage - like the rubrik terminator has with an option to do AOE damage (locked area) or seeking rockets - targeting multiple enemies. Would be fun. 

In the end of the day, this game is meant to be fun. I just looked at a gameplay for this new astartes overhaul mod on PC and they already have Chaplain and other classes there and people are enjoying their time with it.


Apothecary could work as well for sure and I think it will be added later. Saber will have to come up with some spicy ideas for the year 2 season pass, if they wanna please and maintain the player base...which is not very strong at the moment ngl.

Making class doing even more dmg in any of these aspects or being middle ground would make game imbalanced and playing other classes like heavy and assault: pointless. 

Apothecary class wouldn't interfere with any class or imbalance the game because, let's be honest, the stims that you can find in the game heal you maybe by 25% of HP and on lethal and absolute you find maybe 3-4 during whole op for all the team and on top of that bulwarks heal will get nerfed eventually. Apothecary will fill this gap + we already have huge pieces of lore describing them and their importance both in chapter and on the battlefield, so that would be a sin and a waste not to use it.

That is the point of the terminator - to combine the advantages of two classes, heavy ranged dmg + heavy melee and this way create a new quality. This would be a very powerful unit and that is precisely the point of it, who wouldn't like to play such a behemoth from time to time. It would obviously require some kind of limiting mechanism so it couldn't be used too often, maybe a cool down and the requirement of getting 5 kills in the match to unlock the possibility of using it.



Apothecary in turn would definitely imbalance the game, especially in pvp - can you imagine a situation where 2 apothecaries follow the team and heal everybody constantly ? This would be ridiculous because TTK in SM2 is pretty long anyway and the regen mechanics makes it actually even longer, providing you know how to play the game. As for pve I didin't hear any skilled players saying it is too difficult and requires additional help in the form of additional healing. If anybody claims so he can always play on a lower difficulty.

Regarding balance I agree for the terminator class, but I can see them being added later in the game.

I think it wouldn't be PVP, but it can be for Horde mode maybe and even in PVE, where there could be something like a "Terminator mode" for the PVE operations where you can go solo or 2 terminators. Just big boys with big guns fun and gun.

With other existing classes it would be too OP I agree.


Hell, let people play as Dreadnought in Horde mode :D

Let people play a dread in pvp...like in SM1. They could do it, why can't we ?

I heard some rumors, that they will add a Dreadnought mode for PVP later on, but it is still a rumour. As I mentioned earlier, the devs will have to come up with new things for year 2 season pass. So we'll see....or not.
