Greetings! Does anyone know the purpose of that round thingy on the gorget of Gravis armor, lore-wise?Gravis armor.png

I always thought they were some sort of vox device since their voices would be even more muffled than normal given the extra thickness of the armor so they need it to project their voice. But no, no idea what they actually are.

Don’t you wonder what it could be? Perhaps a relic from the Dark Age of Technology—so ancient and obscure that even the Martian Tech-Priests have forgotten its purpose? :D

Seriously though, I don't like it aesthetically. I thought that maybe, if it had some important function, it would help me tolerate its presence on the breastplate that I otherwise like.

Like I said, most likely a vox device of some sort. No clue why he would need a second one but maybe it is there in case he doesn't want to wear his helmet to use the one conveniently placed in that.

Great idea!

I was thinking that since the gorget obstructs the lower part of the view, it could be a downward-facing camera or sensor that feeds its image directly to the helmet's visor. This way, a space marine would still be able to see where he is stepping.

Very true, they technically have omnivision when wearing their helmet since the power armor does have cameras to cover all angles (even if typically they are not depicted, lore-wise they exist) so that could be a camera.
