If the difficulty increases any further here, the ratings will drop to the worst possible.

To get to the point, holding a vote on Discord was a foolish choice,

because that Discord allows anyone, whether they are a buyer or not, to vote.

The smartest option would have been for the developers to directly play the game while matchmaking with random users.

However, based on my multiple saber suggestions, I've come to realize that the developers either rarely play the game themselves or don’t play it at all.

If they did, there’s no way they would leave the numerous bugs (such as the Assault skill not dealing any damage) unaddressed for over four months.

This is not just about the Assault class.

I also directly suggested to Saber about the "The Armor of Contempt" skill for the Bulwark class.

"This skill often doesn't work during gameplay. Please fix it."

It wasn't until six months after the game launched (covering from September to February) that I realized the issue and made the suggestion.

This means that none of the developers have actually used this skill or played the game enough to notice the problem.

The reason I'm bringing this up is to point out that there are "many useless skills" in the current game.

In fact, I still consider "The Armor of Contempt" to be a useless skill, as it only triggers an effect with no actual benefit.

(I did inquire with Saber about balancing improvements related to this, but I’m not sure if they’ll fix it.)

Because there are so many useless weapons and skills like these, most viable builds are extremely limited

And even within those builds, the available options are also restricted.

At a point where most players are concentrated in higher difficulty levels, the lack of variety in viable builds means players aren't really able to enjoy diverse experiences and consequently, they don’t have much reason to extend their playtime.

So, what choice did the developers make in response to this?

Instead of fixing the useless skills and weapons to make them function properly, they held a vote to make the game even harder.

Have the developers actually played multiplayer themselves?

In most cases, success rates in random matchmaking aren’t very high.

(Of course, I’m not including matches where people play all day with voice chat and perfect party coordination.)

In typical random match situations, even a single mid boss appearance leads to 90% of parties getting wiped out.

I can say that with confidence it’s what I’ve consistently experienced after over 1,100 hours of random matchmaking.

And now you're telling me they want to increase the difficulty even further… and even have two bosses spawn at once?

I can say this with absolute certainty: if such a patch goes through, within just one week, the Steam reviews will turn negative.

That might not happen if, as I mentioned earlier, they first fix the underperforming weapons (like the Auto Bolt Rifle, Bolt Pistol, etc.) and nearly useless skills (like the Assault’s Ascension  which, by the way, has an effective range of just one meter). But in the current state of the game? Not a chance.

These are things the developers should be addressing through hotfixes.

They need to fix these core issues before even thinking about increasing the difficulty

Consider this a warning to the developers: any future patch should begin by improving the currently unused weapons and skills then and only then should you look at adding more difficulty.

I disagree with you.

I didn't know there was voting on discord but there were also few on this forum and users - me included - voted greatly in favour of increasing difficulty by changing some aspects of the game, like for example spawning 2 bosses on highest difficulty instead of one. Which is great idea.

Currently me and my friends are at point where we finish ABSOLUTE difficulty with classes on level 1, with only prestige perks and weapons maxed out. So your argument about being forced to play one build to complete high diff makes no sense. We use no build. Maybe we are pro, not gonna deny that, but pros also should have their place in this game and highest diff after incoming changes sounds like sweet spot.

The sad fact about difficulty is space marine 2 that all guys complaining about difficulty don't want to admit is: all you have to do to make game easy is master dodge and parry mechanic. It's all you have to do.

I am looking forward to changed in highest diff as well to horde mode, if those drop together I will actually be very happy.

Unless horde mode turns out crap.

And about classes perks - I don't know. Last time I was saying assault is weak af but now assault feels really strong. With balance or block hammer my ground pound is enough to kill majoris on absolute.

Brother, the difficulty is laughable atm, Absolute is a walk in the park for anyone whos maxed their class and theres just no fun in steamrolling trough the mission. Difficulty absolutely needs to be increased, PvE is just boringly easy atm.

While I agree that the devs should fix the bugs, I also have to say that nobody is forcing you (at least I hope not) to play on the highest difficulty. Every weapon and build is viable on the minimal difficulty if you play solo, or on an average difficulty when playing with randoms. I only wish there were an option to increase the number and aggression of enemies without making them bullet-spongy or reducing your health and armor.
