I know my brothers & cousins in other chapters are just as excited as I am to slay the Emperor's enemies but we need a pre-download release for steam as X-box players already have theirs available to do just that. Is there any word on that for PC? Especially for those who preordered and will be playing 4 days early!
When will pre-download be released for Steam users for SM2?

Unfortunately, pre-download will not be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store. This feature is limited to the console versions only.

From what I've h we ard from various YT creators the there isn't a PC preload or it may be 24 hours before launch. XBox has preload now, PS5 preload is on Sept. 3rd and PC either Sept 8th or 9th unless you got the Gold/Ultra editions then it'll be Sept 5th

As others have already suggested, there sadly is no preload for PC.

As others have stated there will not be preload, but since no one else said why, I'll share: No preload on PC is an anti-piracy measure meant to maximize launch sales. The game doesn't use DRM that is terribly difficult to crack, so the game files would be up on piracy sites and the game would likely be cracked and playable within the day. The console piracy scene is extremely small and slow by comparison, and is essentially not an issue, so they get preload.

- On Xbox Series X|S: Pre-loading is already available. You will download the full game as soon as you pre-order either of the game’s versions. The game will unlock on September 5 or September 9 depending on whether you purchased the Standard, Gold or Ultra Edition.
- On PlayStation 5: Pre-loading will be available on September 3 at 11:00 AM UTC if you have pre-ordered the Gold or Ultra Edition, to allow you to play up to 4 days before the official release. If you have pre-ordered the Standard Edition, pre-loading will start on September 7 at 4:00 PM UTC and the game will unlock on September 9, the day of release.
- On PC: Pre-loading will not be available.
