Why do PC get both no preload and have to wait 3 hours after everyone else to play? So pc players have to wait for the install after already waiting 3 hours longer than console players? Would it not have been fairer to let pc players get it a couple hours early to give us the chance to install during the time console players are waiting. If i have bad internet i could be waiting 5-6 hours or longer to play a game that i paid for early access to simply because i chose to buy it on pc instead of a console....

The actual answer is that PC doesn't get preload because if it did, the game files would be uploaded to torrent sites within the day and the game doesn't use a decent DRM, so it would be fully playable before official launch. It's an anti-piracy measure to maximize launch sales. Console gets preload because there isn't a large and convenient enough console piracy scene for it to matter.

I feel you, but if playing right at the start is that important, you might want to bite the bullet and get the standard digital copy for one of the consoles since cross-save/cross progression is confirmed. That's what I did, so I can play with all my friends, whether PC or console.
