First off, what is Rally? Rally is a stat in Bloodborne (the game the contested health mechanic originates from) that influences how much a weapon heals of your contested health, for example typically weapons with lower DPS have a higher Rally value, such as the transformed Burial Blade (Gehrman's scythe) or the transformed Hunter's Axe, whereas higher DPS weapons tended to have lower Rally values, and this helps balance the weapons without directly changing a weapon's DPS. The contested health mechanic is what makes fighting in melee as Vanguard so fun, as their passive class perk is 50% bonus to contested health regained.
Why don't we try adding this stat to some of our melee weapons? At base, the Block weapons could have a high Rally value and big damage per hit to make them valuable as actual melee weapons for fighting with, Balance weapons with a medium amount and Fencing weapons a low amount keeping them as mainly a defensive tool. As well as this, you could add this stat to the weapons perk trees as well, instead of a perk that increases damage by 5% for 5 seconds after successfully perfect dodging, how about one that increases the weapon's Rally?
