We're all super excited with Space Marine 2 dropping in the next couple weeks. Something I would love and I think would add another level of compatibility and comradery between players would be adding a "clan" feature to the game. A great example of this would be like the days of old with Halo 2, where a group of up to 100 members could be apart of a clan and battle other clans in online gaming. There were 4 ranks within the clan (Peon, Member, Staff, Overlord) though this could be specifically tailored to the Warhammer setting (Neophyte, Initiate/Battle-Brother, Veteran, Brother-Sergeant, Brother Captain, etc.).

The clans can be "battle focused" and put emphasis on competitive gameplay against other clans, Whereas there were other clans that were more suited to casual play.

The clans can be ranks based on win rate against others and there can be full blown tournaments between clans (organized privately of course. This could work nicely between Loyalist and Traitor Space Marine Company Clans.

Anyhow, I think this would be an awesome feature in the game.

Hi! Thanks for suggesting this feature, unfortunately, this is out of vision for the moment... We appreciate the details you've included to your idea, though!

Right?!

This is the basis of it from the Halo Wiki. https://halo.fandom.com/wiki/Clans

It was such an awesome feature in Halo 2!

Used to play everyday with the bros back then!

I would enjoy this as a feature. Inquisition Martyr had clans as well. I don't think it would take a ton of development (who knows truly though). It would be a good way to set up PvP teams and PvE groups, maybe some themed chapters etc.

Exactly! What better way to get people engaged with the PvP and PvE? As you say, there could be "themed" battles or campaigns between clans.

sounds pretty cool, unfortunately discord would make most clan interactions happen outside the game and the community. which ultimately makes the system moot

Discord exists because Game Devs rarely bothered to implement any high quality community features.

And this is where good game design can change that. You need to give reasons to go to Clan hubs with unique interactions like Custom battle barge, Clan mission objectives for in game resources. XP/Resource Boosts for MM with clan members. Clan/community scoreboards. Clan NPC Quest givers for individual goals.

Why do people go to discord? Because it has VOIP+Text Channels fully customisable. Games rarely launch with the above in the game and its often an after thought that comes later when community's are already entrenched in discord usage.

Exactly. This was integrated into Halo 2. We've watched over the last 10-15 years of developers doing the bare minimum for games. The deterioration of in-game features like what we're talking about. The same feature was in Battlefield 2 on Xbox., why can't it be in a game like this?

We need to demand features like this.

Games end up dying because there's a general lack of cohesiveness within the community. This is a great way in my opinion, to combat that.

This is a great idea, something I'd like to add is also having the ability to make your own clan/chapter symbol or emblem.

That would be awesome, I was thinking the same thing! I feel like it could encourage people to make new friends and the title system would be awesome. Maybe there can even be a clan events option or even organized Clan v Clan battles. Hope this does get implemented.

Hey!,

I saw some similar ideas in the community and wanted to let you know that I created one that hopefully can help devs or other people in the community not to miss it.
Here is the idea link

To be lore-accurate they should be called "lodges" which is what the old heresy 'clans' or fraternity groups were called 😀
