If the bots used mimic our own classes in appearance and perks, it'll add an emotional bond and feel like a true squad, rather than random bots that look generic. Also being able to select the classes of bots each mission allows for strategy in how you outfit the squad and yourself. Since there are no doubles of classes per mission, there's no reason to keep them generic.

Absolutely agree, i really want to be able to have the customization I put into classes I don't main shown on screen, and going with a full group all my colors would be sick as hell.

Exactly, the immersion into solo play is much better with that sort of team building. I am going for six different chapters in Deathwatch.

I think it would be a small change that would go a really long way! Would love to see them do this.

I love this idea! It would be very cool to choose bots classes and loadout for those who prefer to play with bots.

I second this. Similar to how Vermintide 2 handles bots. They should have your perks and cosmetics rather than a generic Ultramarine. If it is not already a thing, we should be able to setup our bot priority as well for which ones spawn in each Op.

I wholeheartedly support this idea and believe it would greatly enhance the gaming experience. The option to play solo with AI-controlled bots should be a fully developed game mode, providing an alternative for those times when we might not want to engage with random players. This mode would offer a more personalised experience by allowing players to customise the class, war gear, and armour of their AI teammates, tailoring them to their preferences.

An exciting aspect of this proposal is the possibility of player progression carrying over to the bots. This would encourage solo players to experiment with different classes and weapons as they work to level up their AI companions. In turn, this would increase player engagement, providing greater motivation to tackle higher difficulty levels and complete more challenging missions. This dynamic would make the solo experience feel just as rewarding as multiplayer, keeping players invested in the game.

On a personal note, I created a custom paint scheme for a Loyalist World Eaters Space Marine Chapter, and it would be fantastic to outfit my squad with matching colours. The ability to create a custom banner would add even more depth to this, as it feels somewhat odd for a member of the XII Legion to be flying the banner of the XIII Legion. This kind of customisation would allow players to express their allegiance and individuality more clearly within the game.

In addition to the customisation of armour and banners, the option to alter weapon colours would be a welcome feature. While I don't think it's necessary to change the specific components of the weapons, a selection of primary, secondary, and tertiary colours would offer a satisfying level of personalisation. This would bring the game more in line with the level of detail found in the Warhammer 40K tabletop game, where customisation and personalisation are key aspects of the hobby.

I believe these changes would significantly improve the overall immersion and deepen players' connection to the various classes within the game. By allowing players to shape their experience in ways that reflect their unique preferences, the game would become more engaging, ensuring that it appeals to a wider range of playstyles and preferences.

This would mean rewriting/developing the bot logic but it would be great. Being able to have your other leveled up classes in the squad, with team perks, customizations, weapons, etc instead of the generic Level 1 class. It would make solo grinding much more fun and rewarding, seeing your other classes in action with their current build.

exactly, currently I can play normal solo easily, substantial or above has to be with one other person. Being able to dictate team synergy could allow soloing higher difficulties, and it'd be cool to see your squad look how you want.

It would also rock to be able to pause the game while playing solo. Sometimes I like to answer the phone, drink water or bathroom pauses while playing

This needs to be expanded on, bots in their current state are fundamentally mechanically broken. When playing solo they take no aggro off you, they don't prioritize targets, they do barely any damage so in situations where a boss spawns right in the middle of a big wave, you are left to deal with every single enemy on screen while the bots are just sat in the corner on smoke break literally not affecting the game in the slightest while you sit there running out of ammo with a swarm of thousand suns on your ass and a hellbrute smashing your face in.
