Currently the Skill Tree offered on Launch appears to be pretty linear:

Would love to see if it can reach a level of diversity in which multiple play styles can be achieved within each class with different class abilities according to the play style lane.

Darktide expanded upon their linear skill tree with one that offered three lane types (basically allowing 3 subclasses within the class) with linear paths and new abilities and perks according to each but also allowed hybrid paths into other lanes for mixed playstyles - **Massively benefited the gameplay loop and player enjoyment - offers wider strategy/team dynamic options and combinations**

**See Example Below**

Old format:
Expanded/Reworked New one:

**I could see the Skill Tree of the Adeptus Astartes expanding to this level of diversity and complexity for each class - Ex: A Bulwark Class Black Templar does not fight the same as a Dark Angels one**

100%.

I think with the plans that I am reading about and hearing about for this game - a deeper progression system is a must.  The ability to build out unique playstyles is half the fun with games like this.

I don't want to knock what is already in place - especially since I haven't experienced it - but from what I've seen I think there could be room to really grow this area in a future expansion of the title.  I would even love to see some sort of 'specialist sub-class' system added so that when we reach max level with our characrters - it opens a new set of upgrade paths.

Take my upvote.

while I would love this think this is putting the cart before the horse at the moment. the amount of dev time required to expand out the system for each of the classes to be this deep would take bare minimum of something like 6-8 months from concept to full implementation' if they focused on this exclusive and if we went the darktide route there could be massive overlap with classes people are asking for.

A Bulwark could easily be flavored into a chaplain with the right skills and such and I could see a Tech-Marine come from the Tactical but what about a Librarian or Apothecary? we have no caster or Healer-type classes in the base game so would they need their own set of separate skill trees? This seems like a lot to ask for when taking the scope of what the game is into account.

That being said I would love this kind of skill tree system and I'd love to see how Saber would handle it but I worry about the amount of time and resources it would take and how it could leave the dev team into Fatshark's level of communication

The following Suggestion is not an immediate implementation because we have not even tried the base skill tree yet.

It is a representation of once the game has progressed and everyone has unlocked the base skill tree, where it could possibly go.

For the Chaplain - they wouldn't necessarily be needing the Bulwark ability - even in their ability in Dawn of War - Chaplain's have a Demoralizing / Morale Boost Shout which hinder enemies and strengthen Allies. The Morale Boost does not necessarily mean it will repair armor but what it can do can be varied such as increase Damage Reduction Temporarily (Toughness Increase), Increase Attack Speed Temporarily, etc.
