Purpose: To more closely imitate other ranks within the space marine chapters it would make sense to open up access of the captain pauldron to the rest of the classes. Given how it's already within the game on the vanguard class, being able to use it for the rest of the classes would open up more lore accurate heraldry for the rest of the space marine chapters where it can be found.
