Would love to have the ability to make changes to your AI squad mates armor, heraldry, and colors. I just find it weird that an Astarte of one chapter leading two other Astartes from a different chapter unless they were Deathwatch Marines.

To expand upon this idea it would be nice to be able to choose our AI squad members from our operations characters. For instance, if I were to start a solo operation, I would get a pop-up menu (similar to what is already shown when joining an operation) to choose the classes for the other two squad mates. When I pick Tactical, the AI character that appears would be my Tactical character with the last paint job and weapon loadout they were equipped with. If we are blessed, perhaps these squad members would also have some of our unlocked weapons and class perks!

Aside from customization the bots need to actually be mechanically functional, not the mess they are right now where they don't have any impact on the game.

The bot system should be more similar to the one in Vermintide 2, where they are basically loadouts of Your characters, controlled by AI. This works extremely well because it affects not only cosmetics, but also traits and builds you set them up with when you play those characters. They also retain the character power you have leveled up on those characters. This by itself would allow You more tactical approach when playing with bots. For example: You could run Bulwark class and select Heavy and Sniper as support. Bots in Vermintide 2 actually were dealing DMG to enemies, not like in SM2. 

On top of all that in Vermintide 2 bots responds to command system. Example: You highlight an object like healing potion (and other consumable items) and bot does take it and uses it when he's health drops below a set threshold.

Would love to see this as well, just being able to change their colour alone to match the colour scheme of my own marine would be awesome.

Funnily enough, I was thinking the same thing after I posted my idea. It would make team comp better with bots.
