Hello Runners,

A bit lost with the RGB Selector? ๐Ÿค” Don't worry! Here's a handy tutorial to help you create your perfect custom skin. ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿš›

โ€‹The RGB Selector lets you create custom skins for your trucks.

Currently, it's available for a single color in the Mack Dual Pack (DLC14.5_2). A tricolor RGB selector will be added in the next update (DLC15).

1) Basics ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ You can find the RGB Selector in 'Customize' menu> 'Color' tab:

๐ŸŽจ To open the menu, select a color cell and press โ€˜Add New Colorโ€™ in the lower-right panel:

Inside the menu, you can adjust:

๐Ÿ”น Hue

๐Ÿ”น Saturation

๐Ÿ”น Brightness

Controls:

๐ŸŽฎ Gamepad: D-pad (โฌ†โฌ‡ scroll, โฌ…โžก adjust sliders)

โŒจ Keyboard: Arrows (โฌ†โฌ‡ scroll, โฌ…โžก adjust sliders)

๐Ÿ–ฑ Mouse: Click & drag the slider

The preview color is displayed at the bottom and directly on the truck.

Once satisfied, press โ€˜Add New Colorโ€™ to save your custom skin. โœ…

โš ๏ธ Note: Exiting the RGB Selector without saving will discard your changes!

Your saved skins appear right after the RGB selector, marked with a colored drop icon, and can be applied to any truck. ๐Ÿš›

You can edit, remove, or delete custom skins anytime via the lower-right panel. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

2) Editing a color โœ๏ธ

โš ๏ธ Remember: Press โ€˜Apply Colorโ€™ after editing to save changes.

Edits only affect the current truck, while other trucks keep the original color. This is by design.

โ€‹๐Ÿ“Œ Before edit

๐Ÿ“Œ After edit:

3) Removing a skin ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ

Custom skins remain on all trucks unless replaced manually.

๐Ÿ“Œ After deletion:

We can't wait to see your custom creations on the road! ๐Ÿš›

  1. There is no RGB selector. Do you even know what RGB means? This system uses hue, sat and brightness.
  2. How could anyone possibly be confused by this system? A 6-year-old could figure out how to move those sliders. Please don't tell me there are adults confused here.

I just can't comprehend how people can develop a game but still have absolutely zero clue how the game they are making works. Then release articles that show features which don't even exist in the game.

Just an FYI... this feature doesn't work on some mods even if they have Tint Map paint job options. From the looks of it, the truck needs to have a default Tint Map paint job or the feature does not work. Many mods have custom paint jobs as their default. (All my JohnJohnHotRod mods do)

The confusing part is the game lets players choose a new color, but they can't apply it to the truck. I am not sure why this feature can't seek out the Tint Map paint jobs on its own since they are coded as such.

I submitted a bug request but have already received hundreds of DM's from players who are confused as to why this isn't working on some mods.

The first time you showed it, it was possible to pick up to 3 colors for a skin (Which is the default for any skin), why did you reduce it to just one? It renders it kind of useless... Also, I think it would be hard to do, but, having the option to pick colors for skins other than skin_00 would be very cool to have (For mods, at least...).

it would be nice to know the exact color values of everything in the game so we could easily replicate them for every truck, especially the MudRunner green. Any chance we could get tutorials on how to do things like that?

Good catch on this. I haven't used the skin_00 naming on my mods in a few years. So, I guess the vehicles do not need to have a Default Tint Map paint job... but do need to use the skin_00 naming structure to some degree. Some of my older mods (JohnJohnHotRod) do work with the current 'RGB' feature. But the way this feature works doesn't give a lot of flexibility for mods. Many of my mods have clean paint jobs & patina paint options so this feature would only work to some degree for one of the other. Hopefully, the Devs go back to the drawing board and make this more universal. It shouldn't be that difficult for the 'RGB' feature to work with ANY Tint Map since they all have Tint Color values in the Customization Preset. The feature should seek out any paint job with those values... at least in theory.
