May I ask where is the original "Focus Forums"?

I have some posts there at "Simplified Chinese" community and they are all gone, along with my account "ANK_MK38".

Or you are currently transferring?

There seems to be a definite lack of interest and overall participation. Not sure if it is the same for all forums or just Snowrunner.

I'm trying to participate in these forums, for example with a whole bunch of comments on the v32.1 patch notes thread asking when the game breaking bug that has made it so that I can't even load the game in the last <checks date> 18 days will be fixed and I'm not getting any reply from anyone who knows anything. and while I have raised a support call, all I'm getting is "we're working on it"...

perhaps if there was some interaction with the other side, then people might start to get a bit more involved?

Well what kind of an response do you expect from them? What else are they supposed to say that would satisfy you?

Certain issues takes days, weeks or months to resolve, and they will not be updating the game everytime a singular issue gets fixed, they are packing multiple fixed issues together. One of the reasons why is that is because third party companies (like Microsoft, Apple, Sony and Nintendo) perform an verification process on their platforms before an app or an update to that app is made public, which can take from hours to days to weeks. Another possible reason is that the publisher tries to ensure that all platforms get the update at the same time to avoid backlash, since you wouldn't want to be stuck behind on an outdated version while other platforms are already playing because verification took less time for them.

If a bug is a glitch or something small but where you can work around it, then yes, it's not unreasonable to wait for the next patch cycle. If the bug is game breaking for a platform then I expect several things:

  1. An open statement such as a forum post or email to affected users that there is a significant problem, what it is, who it affects, how it came to be and a realistic timeline of what will be done to fix it.
  2. Regression to the last working version so that players have something to be working with in the meantime.
  3. A push for an emergency/expedited patch to resolve the issue, even if that is an off-cycle patch for a single platform. Most software distribution platforms have mechanisms for emergency patches that need to go out ASAP.

I don't think that is an unreasonable expectation.
