Initial First Day Thoughts

After a little time playing through, here are some initial thoughts.

1) The wider weapon variety really works and opens up options more than I thought it would. The particular stand out for me so far has been the plasma pistol being available to Tactical. One of the issues for me with that class is that unless you wanted to cheese with the grenade launcher, the Plasma Rifle is the clear pick. I personally love the feel of the Autobolt, but I cannot justify it, especially in higher difficulties, since it just doesn't compare in terms of bursting Majoris enemies down. From the dev perspective, I get it. You have to balance everything while still trying to be true to the lore all while not making the game too easy. Opening up the Plasma pistol fills in that deficiency that bolters suffer from, making them feel much more usable.

2) Love the cloth coloring on the Bulwark. The Bulwark has always felt a little sparse in the customization options (I personally do not like any of the relic sets), and coloring the tabard really opens that up to a great number of possibilities.

3) LOL! I know the running gag is that Spacewolves are Space Marine furries, but that champion helmet feels like its leaning into the trope just a little too hard. Maybe it'll warm on me, but prepare yourself for the jokes.

4) The Iron Fists champion is DOPE.

5) QOL adjustment 1 - the new operation could benefit from some initial waypoints. I legit got lost in the desert for a few minutes not realizing I needed to go keep continuing to the left. I realized later that you could press tab for a waypoint, but I don't think that is necessarily obvious, especially to new players. I have over 200 hours in the game and did not know you could do that.

6) QOL adjustment 2 - while there is nothing wrong with sealing up the holes with equipment charges (although it does feel a little Helldivers-y), I might consider using unique mission chargers, like in Decapitation. There is no other part of the game where you use an equipment charge to seal anything up, so it just feels a bit out of place. Not a big deal, but just an observation.

Like I said, just some initial thoughts. If I think of anything useful after some more playthroughs, I'll be sure to hit y'all up.
