What prestige perks really mean.

I thought prestige perks was special perks that defines and improve on the way or the weapons your choose to play with on your class. Boosting normal perks that defines one playstyle over another.

Currently I dont see anything defining any of the classes in the prestige tree. I mean +25 stim? seriously? +100 melee damage on the heavy class, when the only melee attack he has is the running and hit an enemy and the stomp. I played around with it and it just looks so dumb. If you have lots of enemies around you, you will never get in more than maybe one or two stomps and it just looks stupid. im all good with the stomp doing loads of dmg if I have lots of minoris enemies around me, but not enough that I want it as a perk if I can choose something else.

Heavy prestige perks should be centered around either 

health, defense, contested health regen.

Specializing into each weapon type or weapon. Perks for Heavy bolter, melta rifle, perks for Heavy melta, and heavy bolter gun

Bulwark could be specializing into squad cohesion, like lets say you carry the flag around with you as one perk. A perk where you can use your shield as a weapon, the only offensive shield skill right now is shield bash and nobody is using it. there is a reason for that.


the + mag when you execute enemies for classes that runs low on enemies are very nice, but the assault class and is one of the hardest classes to play, it either hide while your wait for your cooldown comes down, or lose a shit ton of health because your weapons doesnt do enough damage to get it back. it would be great if the ground pound attack could be used as lets say instead of flying you swosh towards an enemy and then use your hammer to do a reverse slam, like uppercut or spin at the end of the charge, because charging into enemy and then have to charge up your hammer to attack doesnt work at all.  Im not sure if anyone understands what I mean exactly with this last one but the assault class should have some nice charge into enemies without flying, like the chaos marines. and do a nice charge. spinning into the enemies then slam into an uppercut on the enemy you have targetted or that is nearby so that the enemies fly around outwards like when you do a whirlwind slash with the bulwark powersword or stomp with the saw


I didnt intend to go into details and what i said there is probably alot of animation and work. im just saying that the prestige perks should help the class use the different builds that you can make with the perks you already have and use the prestige perks to make the different perks that you can choose with a class for different weapons and playstyles to refine and expand on them, because right now all the perks in my eyes could be put at any class except for maybe a few ones like that the bulwark need the ammo back, otherwise most of them are just generic and dull. sorry but thats just my 5 cents. I think you need to revise and decide what you want prestige perks to be

I feel exactly the same, the prestige system is just bad and a waste.  They should instead focus on creating more content not wasting players time.  The prestige system in 2007 was bad and now its just horrible.

I like the idea a few have suggested where prestige perks aren't just a flat buff but they can alter the way you might play and help generate new build ideas. I'd also like to see each class have at least 1 prestige perk which is something that affects both themselves and the squad. I'm not mr creative but I'm thinking along the lines of:

Tactical: When you use a med kit, team mates are also healed for 50%
Vanguard: You can grapple towards a team mate and the team mate is invulnerable for 2 seconds and get 1 armour bar back
Heavy:  When you pick up ammo from boxes you get twice the amount, team mates also get 50% of the default amount of that ammo
Bulwark: You have 1 extra bar of armour, team mates also get 1 bar but it's temporary like the extra bars from the armour pickup

I know these aren't great but they are already better than most of the prestige perks out there, and like the devs want with these they aren't broken they are helpful upgrades.
