No, it's not only the design. It's ridiculous to dress warriors in the 40th century in rags and leather. It looks awful, and it is. Seriously, come up with some proper designs, but not that BS. Even medieval knights were better dressed. Unbenannt-0111.jpg

Or at least offer the option to get rid of that bs. Leave the designer to his own wet dreams, but please don't bother us with those.

It's literally part of the lore:  Advanced technology and backwards, dogmatic thinking that is steeped in tradition.  It's supposed to be over the top and not make sense.  I mean, they run around with chainsaw swords.  Don't get wrapped up in the logic.

FYI, 40k is not set in the 41st century, it’s the 41st millennium.

The year is somewhere around 40,000 not 4,000.

Bro... the dark angels and black templars have been a thing for decades. Blade Guard is relatively new but it has a similar aestetic. If you dont like it then you can learn zbrush and apply for a job at GamesWorkshop for miniature sculpting then you could do it and show it how its done.

If you're going to play the game, play it. If you're going to comment, at least learn something about it before you do.  That way you avoid looking like a Throne-damned idiot and a heretic to be purged with His holy flame.

I dont get your argument at all...

Lieutenant with Storm Shield

Space Marines are a pseudo Knightly Brotherhood, mixed with advanced technology... Robes and Leather are part of the aesthetic alongside Power Armour and Plasma weapons.

Sweet you know the difference between clothes and rags?

kthxbye

A bit of wear and tear on the cloth robe in-game for the standard issue breastplate on the Bulwark is what is getting you?

Here's James Purefoy's portrayal of a Templar Knight in Ironclad, his robe isnt exactly pressed and clean is it?

Everyone in this thread proved you wrong and you can’t even move a goalpost properly. You should listen to your nickname more often.

...you're just not smart enough to understand some basic things. Better just relax, get some sleep.

Tell us you know nothing about 40k without telling us you know nothing about 40k.

I appreciated that post.

You'll never convince me that Zerg aren't a rip off of Tyranid.

When it comes to 40k, GW ripped off a lot from Starship Troopers (the original book by Robert Heinlein, which is likely their inspiration for the Tyranids), as well as various 2000ad IPs like Judge Dredd, ABC Warriors, Nemesis the Warlock, and Rogue Trooper. Everyone was ripping everyone else off in the 80s.

Oh yeah, it was all shameless retags, but the Zerg/Nid thing wasn't even adapted imo. Spawning pools. Organic harvests. Gaunts, Ravener, etc.

It just seems blatant. But I suppose they all were to varying degrees.
