Brothers, I want to say something very important. Let's not express our thoughts aggressively but focus on being constructive. First off, we need to understand that a large team is working on the game. Some of them are coders, the actual developers; some are testers; others handle community engagement and feedback management. There are those who come up with ideas for updates and send them off as tasks for development. Let's not lump everyone together.

Secondly, let's be more positive. We should appreciate what we have—a game set in our favorite universe. Personally, I've been waiting for this game for literally 12 years and wouldn't want to lose it. If that happens, we're unlikely to see anything like it ever again. Let's be honest. Let's not behave aggressively. We all love this game very much, and that's exactly why our emotions run high. We care deeply about its future, but let's still try to be more objective.

The game has a lot of positive aspects: graphics, attention to detail, sounds, animations, physics (except for some moments, of course), combat mechanics. Tons of pros. How the maps are made, the level design—the Warhammer atmosphere is present and improving over time. Yes, there are minor issues, but they are solvable. Let's behave more constructively so the developers don't think we have a negative attitude toward the product, because that could lead to big losses.

Let's remember this and from now on be more respectful to the people who work on the game.

Now, onto the problems. The biggest issue with this patch is the inability to replenish armor away from your teammates. This kills the sniper, partially the devastator, and completely the assault marine. The sniper and assault marine (to a greater extent), as well as support (to a lesser extent), need to be positioned away from the team. The sniper should be at a distance with support, and the assault marine, on the contrary, close to enemies. Therefore, their positioning is always very disadvantageous. If they remove this tethering of characters to each other, the game will be awesome.

The new difficulty is good. The map is interesting, and I understand why there's only one so far—the development of a map is a long process. Everything else requires ideas, deliberation, development, and testing.

I mentioned at the beginning who the developers, testers, and managers are. Let's pay attention to whom exactly we're dissatisfied with. We're dissatisfied not so much with those who came up with the idea of changing the armor but with those who tested this idea. Honestly, I can't imagine that people who play their own game could let such a thing be released. It's literally impossible to complete with random players—not because the mobs are tough or there are many special enemies, but simply because there's no armor. Everything else works fine, but the inability to regenerate armor is a big problem.

Moreover, there should always be an option in the game to win solo. When two of your teammates die, you still can't replenish armor. That's madness. Before, you could solo waves and bosses. Now you can't—there's just no armor. And it doesn't depend on your skill level. If you parry melee enemies, the ranged ones still hit you, and health gradually decreases—it's important that it decreases gradually, not all at once, because when it decreases in small steps but constantly, it doesn't allow you to replenish it properly. That's it. The main problem is the armor—or rather, the lack of armor.

Previously, in the third patch, they unnecessarily nerfed Chaos. I always thought that Chaos before the previous update was an interesting challenge. But they nerfed it, and nerfed the enemies' ranged combat overall. The game became very easy. Now they've made an interesting difficulty level and tied cosmetics to it—which is correct, because there should be something to distinguish regular players from those who managed to beat this difficulty. But the decision regarding armor is terrible. I really hope they'll reverse it.

Let's not be so infantile, brothers. Let's express our thoughts more adequately so the developers understand that we treat them with respect and value this game.

Here's my current take on it: The new horde spawning mechanic is borked, I think it's still ticking while a horde is in progress causing higher difficulty lobbies where TTK is a bit higher due to HP outstripping damage output which is causing multiple hordes to queue and turning slower fights into slogs. Another thing I've observed is that I keep ending up with memory leaks primarily against Tyranids--which I've had before--but not to the extent that I've had so many fatal errors (I've had more in the last 24 hours than I've had in the period before this patch).

I think the team is doing a Cut Once, Cut Deep approach where they do a big overcorrection and then tweak using the new balance point hoping they can course correct when the complaints are more consistently towards "It's too damn hard", because it's a lot easier to rebuild from "zero" when complaints are so consistent but have no consistency to them as many complain it's too hard, many complain it's too easy, and bad actors on both sides are antagonizing each other or acting out. As of current, it's mostly the ones who thought Ruthless was easy (Ruthless felt like the 'natural' level to engage on after 15 for me) that are happy with the changes, I see more that seem to like the ideas of the changes but think they're sloppy and expect more from Saber Interactive (I'm in this camp), others that don't like the changes and want to see it reverted, and the DOOOOOOOMposters.

I'm hoping that there's a massive balance change to bring player weapons to parity with one another before they do another "fix" like 4.0, because the complaining shows the community is healthy and is passionate. But people will only complain so much before the will to deal with it slips away from them. We've seen it before, and I'd hate to see it happen again: Not when I've waited 13 years for this, and not when other Firstborn have been waiting the same amount of time, and definitely not from Saber, who has a great pedigree for putting out great content.
