Just look at the video and Imagine it transposed to the game

12 or more players in an open battlefield map . You can add objectives , facilities control etc..  in a community effort to repel the invasion or conquering planets in different ways :  taking back a fortified Imperial fortress ( or taking it as Chaos marines) , open plain battlefields etc..

Modders have shown us that its perfectly possible to have many more players in an operation with increased enemy waves and Imperial guard support without any performance issues ,  so It would be perfectly doable.

If you hear us also on the face customization and let us make our own no named marines there would also be huge advantages because :

We could finally get rid of Talasa squad and main story (or at least it can give you the option to do so in order to make something different )

New settings and maps can be created both outside of the current planetary system of the story or in the very same system, but that doesnt involve Talasa squad, allowing them to create different battlefield scenarios that can be put in the story's context ( battles not yet told or the campaign aftermath battles ). So the possibilities can becomes immense

Thanks to the previous points, new marines units can be created and implemented , for example firstborn marines joining the battle, our characters can be made anew and can level up from being a reclute to become Company Veterans , unlocking different/advanced perks and different/advanced loadouts combinations as a consequence

This would finally grant the feeling of epicness that a 40k game deserves to have . Being protagonists of great large battles in a fashion that only this ip Is capable of and most importantly , what 40k fans always dreamt to have in a game

Combine this with the idea suggested by

ulfhedinnBK :

And i think it would be great

Hope that at least modders could deliver this experience to us if they are given the map editor from the tool kit

Brother Aurellian,

Thank you for the amazing suggestions, and the video! I must say it looks awesome. I have forwarded this suggestion to the right team, and we will give it the attention it deserves. However, keep in mind that I cannot any promises about it's implementation.
Also, make sure to keep an eye on our official channels for more updates!

You are welcome ,  please make it happen , it would also be the perfect opportunity to get rid of Talasa squad by making our marines faces customizable in that mode . Really , most of us just want to replicate the epic scale battlefields that 40k is most famous for and to have our own marine to play with  . This would be the real win for the game and would keep players engaged and invested for a very long time, and thats why this should be , in my opinion, your main focus and best effort to realize that dream. From that point on , making new content for the future would also come by itself thanks to the much more possibilities that this  mode-idea and faces customization will open up for you in that regard.  It would bring more sense even for cosmetic packs , because one thing is looking cool in a just 3 man ops, another whole different (and way better) thing is looking cool while being immersed in an epic scale battlefields, charging with your 12 /15 battle brothers in a scenario like the video i posted.  So please consider this idea seriously, it could be the spark for a much more bright future (could save the game imo)for the game and definetly more respectful about 40k ip.

PS :Please convince GW to bring into the game the complete firstborn armours and their classic weaponry and you wil open another floodgate of money for you and more fun and different gameplay for us the players

I like the idea of larger units for horde mode. If I may, I would like to suggest two alternatives for consideration. (1) Horde mode is 6 man squad, 1 of each class: Talassa on mop-up duty after Demeria suddenly finds themselves at the center of a new counteroffensive. (2) 10 man squad, limit 2 per class: a Deathwatch kill team faces impossible odds defending something the Inquisition deemed invaluable.

I like the idea of at least 6 people in Horde mode, and more than 3 is something that has been asked for a lot. Going as Deathwatch or even a different squad of Acheran's Ultramarines is something I'd do if it allowed me to play as 6 man team (or more!).

This should be basic game mode at launch because it's pretty obvious it would be most played one. Whole success of HD 2, even despite devs being highly incompetent and disorganized, relies exactly on this - horde mode feeling. You get flooded with enemies of all sizes very frequently, especially at higher difficulties. Game has very good core.

Having that in SM 2 would elevate game to higher tier and having rewards assigned to completing certain objectives during horde mode like surviving X time, reviving other players, killing Y enemies etc, would make this game nearly immortal. Of course assuming rewards would really put player to the test before being granted, something that we had with Survivors Helm for like one week or so, before difficulties got nerfed back to kindergarden level.

That said, I am a bit worried and dissapointed seeing that fastest we get Horde mode is half year from now... I understand we stick to roadmap but to be honest after this huge success game is, I hoped that we get more than this plan minimum.

Turns out it's better stick to it and just take extra money to pocket. Nothing wrong about it, you made game, we bought it, you earn money, that's how world works.

But still I am a bit dissapointed. This is very good game that will be remembered for a very long time but I cannot fight the feeling that it could be so much more...

I agree with everything you said , and thats why i came up with this idea combined with the other guy's idea i quoted  . It would give the game so much more expansion and content potential and hopefully , if the devs deems this idea worth , things could change for the better and we can prevent the horde mode to be Just a mid and bland 3 man game. 40k ip Is mainly huge battlefields where  armies clashes and most of the fans have been dreaming about that kind of game (which would finally render justice to the ip) for literally ages but unfortunately without success.  Lets hope the devs will realize that and approve the idea and put at least 12 + players in bigger open battlefield maps like helldivers 2 maps

If they hear us also on the face customization and let us make our own marines there would also be huge advantages because :

Would also allow us to organize in squads more properly and immersively ( could form assault squads , devastator squads , tacticals etc) which would be so epic to see in a scenario like that. Obviously will be most of an organized clan thing , but cool to have the possibility to do so or just joining with randoms

Joining a map alone or with your squad landing with drop pods at the reinforcement location would be awesome

Making It a community effort like helldivers 2 would also better involve the players , making them feeling to be active part of a crusade to repel the xenos by conquering or defending planets/zones together . With of course rewards if acheiving success

Cosmetic packs for the new units /already existent ones would make more sense

A ton of money for Saber and a game that could go on and be expanded for a very long time , but obviously this is up to their will to do that. Lets hope for the best
