Parry Weapon Timing

Come on.  The stealth nerf to parry timing wasn't needed.


It was good where it was at.  This change does nothing but frustrate players because we develop our  own timing and rhythm.  Now it's all effed up.

I'm so tired of having to relearn how to parry with every melee update. Return the perfect parry window to Fencing and allow it to parry attacks from behind like it was pre-patch.


Whatever happened to:
"The key takeaway for me, personally, is that I forgot that once the game comes out, it's no longer a dev's game. It's yours first and foremost. "


So stop "fixing" things that are not broken. If your spreadsheets show that more people use Fencing than Balanced, then maybe make Balanced better to use instead of making Fencing worse to use at the same time.

Exactly.  


It isn't fun to just feel like there is a weird glitch or something isn't working when I go to parry.  Just put it back.  It was fun and enjoyable.  This new parry isn't impossible - it's just not enjoyable.

Yep new parry is garbage. You also have to be DIRECTLY facing the attacker otherwise it won't work. Horrible change.

I am thinking they accidentally removed the fencing weapon bonus perfect parry window. The metadata used to say they have an "riposte" bonus of 0.495 now it just says 0. You know, flubbing a number while touching something that didn't need to be touched.


Oh and they didn't get a damage bonus so they flat-out lied when they said they increased melee damage across the board. Heavy likewise did not get a melee damage increase because heavy has no melee weapon and I am guessing they forgor.

So I know this much: the power fist relic fencing version seems unchanged as far as its parry is concerned. Just had a match and it played as I remember it, all muscle memory successfully parrying everything even when 5+ majoris attack at once or in sequence. It is possible only some weapons and some tiers of them are effected by the parry changes in general.

Agreed on all points.


See devs, we do not use parry to deal damage, we use it to SURVIVE, since only two of 6 classes has the ability at lv25 to self heal.

Omni directional parry on fencing and balanced mele weapons is a necessity when fighting tyranids as there is no way to generate enugh armor bars to stay live otherwise since you are attacked from all angles. Had the tyranids only and ONLY attacked from one direction, these changes could work, but they do not.


So, revert all changes to parry done in this update! 

You can bring it back in content update 6 alongside redesigned weapon perk trees for all mele weapons. (cus i expect that all mele weapons will have a new perk that gives back hp in some form or another for all 6 classes, else these parry changes need to be permanetly scrapped)
