Actually, the block charges are bad for the game

And here's why: teamplay dynamics. Is the explosion satisfying? Yes. Are you able to get it consistently? Absolutely not. Why not? Teammates. They are doing nothing wrong, just killing all the fodder swarming you like they are supposed to, killing things is the point right? Well no not if you are using a block weapon. If you are using a block weapon you NEED enemies to attack you, preferably minoris that attack quickly in order to restore all that armor that incidental ranged attacks are stripping away. Got two charges and on a sliver of armor left and your teammate just staggered the enemies you were about to block for that last charge so you can get armor back (finally) tough shit now you are missing half your health bar because your armor just broke and all the ranged attacks just ate away all your health while destroying your contested health.

See the problem? The three charges don't work, not consistently enough. And since melee attacking "releases" the charges for damage now you have to start again if you need to melee for some reason.

Solutions? Well there are several but these are the two that make the most sense and would be simplest to implement:

1. Do away with the charge system, at least for armor recovery, make blocking not stagger the enemy but ALWAYS restore one armor segment, make perfect block provide a temporary damage boost (no more than 5 seconds) equivalent to the boost provided by the current 2 charges. "Getting back one armor every block, that seems pretty OP" I hear you say, but no, it has no inherent knockback, retains the same small block window (which is far smaller that the perfect parry window) and most importantly better defines they type as the defensive type. Walk back some of the damage buffs to the base stats so it isn't the weapon you pick to deal damage, it is the weapon you pick when you want to be tanky. With the perfect block boost going you should deal the damage they currently do with zero charges.

2. Keep the charge system but GET RID OF DECAY. You have 2 charges? Great you will have those two charges until you get a third and cause the explosion, removing all charges. This one obviously the simpler of the two and one they could feasibly implant with just a couple days of dev time.

I used to be on board with the block weapons but as of right now, it is the single worst feeling losing all your health just because a teammate decided to be helpful, well helpful assuming no block weapon, at the worst possible time. This has happened several times today and I have officially had enough of the type.

I think your points make sense. Or at least make the block window vastly wider ( from a logical standpoint , i dont need much timing in order to just bring my arm up and Just waiting for the blow to arrive and stop it , compared with the timing needed to deviate away the enemy weapon) so its easier to trigger the adrenaline buff . Combining this with the 5/10 seconds temporary buff you mentioned or the third charge in order to consume it and maybe the problem would be easily solved

Relying on the the blocking stacks is not the best way to farm armour on block weapons. Using the dash attacks and heavy attacks on minoris with gun strikes works better. You don’t need to fixate on getting the blocks, only when the situation arises (not when you’re swarmed).

You can do that with any weapon, literally not the point. Gunstrikes have no I-frames so relying exclusively on them for armor while getting attacked by multiple majoris enemies or getting shredded by ranged attacks is not a valid solution to the problem with the Adrenalin system. Also doing said dash attacks means say goodbye to any charges you had gained.

You can make the same point with I-frames for parry gunstrikes so I don’t see your point. The point I was also making is not to use dash attacks or blocks exclusively. Like I said if you fixate on stacking the blocks it will be hard, it’s situational. It needs a different play style to fencing weapons, mixing aggression with defensive gameplay. I’ve got lethal clears with block weapons, but only on certain classes - is it fun, viable and a change up to fencing builds - yes. Are block weapons s-tier - no.
