Please be patient and read the post before making your choice .

As i could see though multiple discussion platforms , the community is pretty much divided on this topic : some saying that the game does not have enough content to keep them engaged , and some others are just fine with the content rate.

Im not denying it, im a passionate 40k fan and would definetly want this game to be a full live service that would grant way more content , more often and being engaged in it for a very long time and non stop . After all , my main thing is the 40k universe and i wish there could be that kind of game for me to enjoy and able to monopolize my attention. Other games are nice , but definetly not what im interested in the most

Many arguments aganist the live service thing i have read about this game are :

Battlepasses and fomo content , predatory microtransaction would ruin this game:

Well , battlepasses and full live service doesnt necessairly mean that , its not something inevitable. If you as you always claim , believe that Saber is so great and make amazing things for the players and are a player side company, i would definetly trust them to make a full live service that is not predatory with microtransaction ,with content that does not expire and will be always there for you to enjoy if you decide to take a break from the game to play something else.

2) Go play something else and return later :

What if i dont want to or there isnt really anything interesting to me out there ? Why should i be penalized for that compared to other players ?And anyway this could be said even for live service games aswell when there is no content left to play , but at least i know i wont have to wait absurd amounts of time in order to play my favourite/main game new content that i crave for. And also , trusting Saber as you claim , you would have this content always  available for you to play whenever you want aswell. And anyway , in a no fomo live , you are not forced to play it endlessly , would be the same as now , but better

3) im playing the game every day non stop anyway because its great and im fine with the drip content pace

You are basically telling me that you are playing it in the same way as a live service game , non stop almost every day. So at this point why not making it a full live service already ? More content more often, same high quality (you praise the devs and trust them they'll do anyway , claimed by you yourselves) . You would play it non stop anyway, but with way more in It.

4)Game is fine as it is and dont need to be live :

Well thats your personal thought and what you want /need is different from that of many other players. Again why should i be penalized by that philosophy ? I dont think its fair , especially for the passionate 40k fans that dreams about a game like that.

So in the end , i would be all in for the game going full live service as the rumors says. As long as it hasnt fomo content and everything stays there to enjoy for everyone so that both categories of players are satisfied , be the " i'll play something else and return later player" or a diehard one , i would be happily support that

i unlocked everything in the first 100 hours of the game and now have 720 hours in game. this is a well made game that i felt was fun to just play for no other reason than to play the game for 620 hours. it doesnt need any of the crap you just mentioned. everything doesnt need to be fortnight, go buy an attention span

No thank you. Live service games create nothing more than skins and worthless stuff along side tedious, grindy achievements. I would prefer good content released at a schedule that the devs can handle.

I HATED Halo's live service shit and the battlepass they had. Can't compare this to CoD since Focus/Saber will never have the ARMY of people that the CoD studio has.

I LIKE being able to play one match, feel good or bad about it, and then just log off without the pressure of some b.s. "kill 5 more Lictors to get 50 battlepass points".

I've carefully read your post and I think you've highlighted some crucial points worth reflecting on. As a passionate fan of the Warhammer 40K universe, I feel compelled to add some thoughts to support your position.

You're absolutely right that a well-managed live service doesn't automatically translate into predatory microtransactions or expiring content. For instance, some games have adopted live service models without putting undue pressure on players, offering a balanced and accessible experience.

I completely agree with your perspective about the lack of interesting alternatives for hardcore Warhammer 40K fans. This game has the potential to become a lasting reference point for the community, delivering regular content to keep fans engaged and satisfy both casual and dedicated players.

I find your observation about players who already dedicate significant time to the game particularly interesting. If the current model works for them, adding more content through a live service model would only enhance the experience. This isn't about forcing anyone; it's about giving more options to those who want more.

I understand that for some, the game might already feel satisfying, but it's essential to acknowledge that the community is diverse and includes people like us who dream of a richer and more continuous experience. A well-thought-out live service approach could satisfy both sides.

A concrete example of how a live service model can work without sacrificing the game's quality and integrity is Planetside 2. This game was launched more than a decade ago, yet it still has an active and engaged community. This success is due to continuous developer support, regular updates, and a game ecosystem that encourages long-term engagement.

What makes Planetside 2 relevant to this discussion is that it has demonstrated how a game can maintain players' interest for years without falling into the traps of predatory microtransactions or FOMO content. The game has struck a balance between accessibility for new players and depth for veterans, proving that a well-managed live service model can be sustainable over time.

If Space Marine 2 were to adopt a similar approach, it could not only ensure significant longevity for the title but also solidify its status as a key reference point for Warhammer 40K fans. This would be a unique opportunity to create a game capable of capturing players' attention without ever ceasing to innovate and surprise them.

In conclusion, I believe that a live service model, free of FOMO content and designed to cater to both casual and hardcore players, could represent the natural evolution for Space Marine 2. It would be a win for the entire community, keeping the Warhammer 40K universe alive and thriving for years to come.
