Modders make me feel temptations like it's pre Horus Heresy

I was always agaist mods but seeing what modders are doing lately makes it hard for me to not appreciate their work, despite that it is agaist my rule I always followed - keeping game CLEAN from any kind of corruption. Whether it were cheats, hacks, or mods.

Today on reddit I found out new mod came out - Astartes 3

In this mod we get new playable classes: chaplain and apothecary. Things that we are asking for since release and still got 0 news about from devs.

On top of that, we get Storm Bolter and Crozius Arcanum.

Next update we will get yet another class - Captain - who was also discussed on this forum in Ideas thread and we will get it exactly as it was mentioned there - it will be class focused on providing support by reinforcements of different kinds, regular soldiers but up to dreadnoughts.

At this point I am starting to think maybe I was wrong and as a player I would benefit more from abandoning life of game-purist and join modders side.

I will hold back and wont ask questions like: how is it possible that some random guy in his free time gives content of same or higher quality than devs of the game.

Instead I will ask: what is your stance towards mods Brothers?

My stance on mods is that it's free game in single player games / modes.
In online environments it depends on what type of mod it is, as some that might effect the gameplay effects not only your experience but everyone elses around you which is wrong.
As those around the mod-user might not feel the same way and don't want mods to effect their experience.

I've read through the Astartes Overhaul changelog, and nothing really piqued my interest. But if there were a mod that included all the features I want (like the suggestions I posted in the dead and forgotten 'Ideas' subforum), I would totally install and play it—even if it were offline-only.

Yea I am getting closer and closer to installing it. I really want to play space marine 2, I am often asked to do some games by my Battlebrothers but I can't just force myself, I am bored to death already.

I think CD Projekt had great idea. They seen good modder doing great stuff for free so they just hired him to work on Witcher 4. Simple and effective solution where everyone wins. Cd projekt gets new talented employee, modder gets money for what he was doing for free and players get one more good dev working on game they wait for.

Such a big missed opportunity there Saber, right under your nose.

True that modders can do wonders where companies seems to be lacking.
But modders aren't restricted with what they can do as companies might be.
Considering how Saber require close inspections from Games Workshop regarding what to add to the game or not, and most likely have to follow an already set plan of future content they don't have the freedom modders have.
