I want to flag something I was easily able to reproduce on the Hive Tyrant boss (PS5, Online, Ruthless) where the boss when attacking or doing an ability is causing my input actions to either not get captured at all or to be delayed. The most obvious of these is the 360 wave when he yells. When he does it, my guy can dodge the first wave no problem, then the second and the third create this sort of delay timer (almost like when time slows down when you do a perfect dodge) excepts nothing slowed down and now your timing is all off on the next wave. Same thing for beam sword swings. And then his whip actions (which dont come with a "blue or red icon tell") cause a followup parry to be delayed.


I also notice this happening with regular enemies (majoris through extremis), but its a little less obvious. It seems to be related to non-broadcasted attacks that the player did dodge/parry that then causes a slowdown in the player actions but not the game actions. Also, block weapons seems to reduce the instances of this happening. Maybe its because you dont get the time slowdown when you parry?


I think this might be a hitstop issue as others have pointed out.
