Is there some rule that says if a person is playing on console in lethal they must select a melta capable class or tactical with grenade launcher?

Just kidding, but it seems that way.  I play on pc and have crossplay on.  The past 8 people on xbox/ps that I have come across were using either a melta or grenade launcher.  As soon as they were in a situation where they couldn't rely on the weapon they get dropped.  The one console player on lethal that came in as a bulwark on the other hand was phenomenal. Team heal on terminus executions, wade into huge groups and barely get scratched.  Saved the op by lasting almost whole death timer against many chaos enemies to let us get back into the fight.  Hats off to that dude.

No, it is just lack of player skill.

GL on bolter is so overpowered it has broken the game, it is dire need of a huge nerf. (and it will come) You can basicly solo the whole game apart from lethal when using that  variant.

Melta is the 2nd easy mode, it staggers and do not consume ammo when hitting large groups when you use a spesific class perk.

3rd easy mode is the Bulwark. Using fencing weapons plus the Defensive Advantage perk, you are invincible by rapid spamming the parry button, plus you deal aoe dmg from the perk skill.

So no rule, it is just the easiest way to play the game. And when you play with randoms you are forced to go with the easiest and most cheesy options.

No. You just got unlucky.

I play on PS5 and my favourite choices are:

* Assault (Thunderhammer, heavy bolt pistol)

* Vanguard (Occulus carbine, bolt pistol, chainsword)

* Sniper (Stalker bolter or carbine)

* Heavy (Heavy Bolter, bolt pistol)

* Bulwark (Bolt pistol, chainsword)

* Tactical (Heavy or automatic boltgun)

All classes lvl 25, all weapons relic tier, survivor helmet unlocked.

I’m a console player, and I see it from a different perspective. When attempting lethal (very rare for me), yes I use GL or melta usually. Not because it’s “easiest” or broken, but because I’m trying to not let my team down. I’m doing it to help the group succeed. I rarely attempt highest difficulty because social anxiety makes me feel very uncomfortable, and if I die a lot or have a bad game, I feel terrible for failing the team. Makes me avoid grouping all together.

So next time you see someone using one of those weapons in lethal, realize they are probably just trying to do what’s best to help you, maybe even sacrificing their own fun of using favorite class or weapon (I love assault, but won’t risk playing him with randoms on lethal). Yes, it’s partially about skill, but more about respecting others time/effort.

I wish I would of got a video of that bulwark.  Two team members down and he lasted over 200sec on lethal in a chaos mission with two sorcs, any number of majoris(two enraged), and scattering of minoris.  The shield blocking of a bulwark is so strong vs chaos ranged attacks.

@Erebus Don't worry most if not all won't mind at all.  As long as you are out there trying and not sucking up every stim in your path or other items people won't have issues.  Of course there will be some that do but that's the internet.  Some people are just jerks. Soon though you will find yourself getting better, getting more used to the combat, and your own skills getting better.  We all started out lethal rough.
