Not actually complaining about spore mines, as a concept they are neat especially since they can damage enemies HOWEVER if a teammate shoots one it should be treated like any other environmental explosive and not damage your team (possibly even remove the self-damage or at least give you like 50% resistance to it, RIP every Assault player that jumps then mines spawn at their landing zone causing them to eat unavoidable damage). We nearly had a wipe today because about 15-20 spawned right on top of us and a guy with a melta, trying to be helpful or spamming hard to say, shot into them destroying them and taking me from full health and armor to downed as well as taking out the guy I as next to who was a bulwark with his banner down (he was about half health but I mean we were both full armor).

That is not okay given you plan on introducing a terminus enemy that presumably will spam spore mines at us.

It is fine they hurt so much but if an teammate shoots one it should not damage you.

Has it been confirmed that Biovore is a terminus enemy?

NEW ENEMY - BIOVORE 🦂

The Biovore is a new enemy in PvE, in all maps featuring Tyranids. It’s an Extremis enemy, a dreadful foe both in distance and melee combat. Beware of the Spore Mines it shoots.

Don’t forget to dodge and then aim at the Spore Mine to destroy them before impact. 💥

Do not falter, Brother. You’ve got this.

That's a pretty good idea.  I recently had a game with a similar experience. Fighting a group and spore mines spawned in.  A heavy at range turned to help us and popped a bunch right where we were fighting.  There goes all my armor and most of my health.  I like the realism of it and would hope for some fire discipline from teammates but it is the internet and with randoms never know what you will get.

It is more the inconsistency of it, you know? Because ultimately they are just mobile environmental explosives and environmental explosions triggered by teammates don't deal friendly fire damage. Getting punished for something out of your control is not fun.

Worse than the worst-case scenario:

New map in Eternal War & Biovore in Operations

Eternal War mode gets a brand new Necron-themed PvP map named “Tomb”. 🪦 Operations players on the other hand, will need to keep an eye out for the new Tyranid Biovore, a devastating Majoris enemy able to deal damage both from afar and up close. 🦂

And they massively nerfed the Bulwark's team heal by giving it a frankly uncalled for 100% cooldown increase, now the longest cooldown in the game. Now if it constantly gave back contested health while active then it would be warranted but you don't even get contested health back if you were not in the AoE (which still needs a better indicator of exactly where that is like it has in PvP where it is VERY clear where the edge is)
I mean at least over-all things were a buff. They reworked far fewer weapon perks than I would have liked though...

Ok, looks like Biovore being a Majoris enemy was a false alarm.

As a Heavy player I like this update so far. It appears that "Strategic stand" makes "Heavy immunity" redundant, so I can reallocate its mastery point. Plus, I’ve got another mastery point from maxed out experience on my Heavy bolter. Two extra weapons perks – not bad! Can’t wait for a weekend to give it a try.

And I'm totally going to grind for the new Heavy breastplate.

Yes they are just extremis, though I have no clue what their weakspot is. It certainly is not their head because 6 BSR rounds including one out of cloak were not enough to take it down and that was while a bulwark was wailing on it. That much damage would have taken out any other extremis and then some. The animation for it shooting spore mines is also janky AF. So far a terrible addition.

They are armored but their gun is vulnerable.  Makes it nice since it sits up high even if they come to a ledge or try hiding that big gun sticks out.

They still seem a bit too overtuned for an extremis they have a bit too much Health that or they have the same BS ranged damage protection as melee units (which should not be a thing IMO but that is a separate issue)

Anyway, I am now actually complaining about spore mines. Something happened this patch and now they are more often than ever spawning from thin air within 5m of you while you are fighting things. At first I thought it must be the biovore shooting them but no, they have a slightly different color than the standard spwaned mines. It isn't even only spore mines that are spawning from thin air too close to the players, even warriors and gaunts are just materializing from nothing in the play zone rather than in the spawn locations. It is like the ambient spawn locations for the pre-set enemies are being used as wave spawn zones now. Not good. This only has been an issue with the nids thus far, chaos just teleport in like they always have.

I think they seem overtuned for extremis enemies because I'm not really sure how the most effective way to tackle them is yet.  I play assault and with all the extra extremis damage they gave assault I go right at them.  If another class I shoot the gun  That has been working, but there has to be some sort of strategy or key to focus in on.  I'm waiting for someone smart to put out a guide or something.  Like the people that datamine all the weapon damage info or something.

I saw that spore behavior in a game.  It's not been common so far which I'm glad because last thing I want is to worry about spores materializing right near me every minute.

The amount of spore mines was already stupid. Now my screen is completely filled with nothing but spore minds. Someone at Saber obviously likes Spore Mine a little too much, like unhealthily too much.

The upside is if you can get Warriors in the cloud before detonating them, it just obliterates the enemy wave.

I don’t have trouble dealing with spores, but I find them an annoying game design choice that worsens my experience.

They spam excessively, are hard to spot, and can insta-kill you out of nowhere. In short, spore bombs don’t add fun—they just add frustration to an otherwise brilliant game.

I'd prefer that killing spore mine, it would have x2 radius to kill other spores compared to the current radius.

Yes, sometimes you destroy a mine and the ones next to it just don't explode. As a concept I love them, they are like the squibs from SM1, but when they just refuse to chain-explode they become an absolute nightmare considering if even one hits you while you are in recovery frames your animation locked doing something else before they spawned on your head you lose all your armor (no really nerf their armor damage at least) and chunk you for 15-50% of your health depending on if you are 3 armor or 2 armor.

At least they have indeed addressed this and claim they are spawning for too long and that is why we are getting such ridiculous spawn numbers and why after destroying a wave of them like 5 more waves spawn.
