Can somebody give me some tips on how to do the one ugly xenos ordeal (bring down a lictor before it attacks from ambush).

I don't have any issues with lictors, but 330 hours in and I've NEVER done this "accidently" and now that I'm trying to do it I can't figure out how.  I've got a level 25 Tactical with all the "kill extremis with scans and headshot" perks selected.

It is almost impossible in operations. I forget which mission it is is campaign but there is actually a point where one spawns up on some chains before a valkyrie . You can just about make out its eyes and if you get a bolt sniper on the lowest difficulty you can one-shot it. Either that or get good at the boss fight and hit it before it is able to leap from the cliffs or trees.

In the right time you can auspex and shot the lictor before he jumps on you, completing the ordeal. You can retry many times in under 5 mins.

*You don't need to kill it before it ambushes you. Just shoot it before it reveals itself, and it will fall to the floor. That's enough for the ordeal.

​you don't need to scan it, you just need to shoot it down. You can also complete the test with freeing yourself from Ravener in the 3rd test of the bulwark

Remember to also put on the instant-kill perk otherwise you will never get it in the trial because they gave you one of the worst weapons in the game for quickly killing a lictor

Thanks for the help everybody.   I was able to finish the ordeal in about 10 minutes once I started looking in the right spot.
