Lately, I've noticed quite a few random players using classes with access to the Plasma Pistol (e.g., Bulwark and Heavy) but opting for the regular Bolt Pistol instead (not the Heavy Bolt Pistol). Why is that?

If I remember correctly, the Plasma Pistol has a higher damage output, and the Bolt Pistol doesn't seem to compensate for this with "+X% headshot damage" weapon perks, as those perks don't apply during Gun Strikes.

I assume that most players use their sidearm primarily for Gun Strikes. Am I mistaken?

They are probably completion it's, I'm also using the Las fusil on my sniper because I want to level it up but is far from my preferred option
