[Idea] Expand PvE lifecycle: move away from Talasa

I created an Idea proposing to move away from Talasa for future (and also current) operations.


The PvE formula is interesting and it's well received, as not everyone is into PvP *raises hand*


The tie in with the single player campaign has been interesting, if only a bit too drawn out. I have played the SP once, I do not think I will play it again if maybe a long time down the road on the highest difficulties, and thus I reckon the tie in between SP and the PvE is ultimately short-sighted and will come to a detriment in the medium run -the characters in the Operations are anything but memorable, I do not care about them, and the same banter lines are growing older the more I play. 


I do believe in the long run PvE will be better served to become an independent game mode, distinct from the SP, even moreso when Sabre plans to introduce more chapters: they should have their own story, their own style, as each player will  probably prefer to have their own mind canon transported in the game. Either give command to an Inquisitor, or a High Admiral, or Calgar, or find a way to let an Ultramarine Captain to order other Chapters around. Possibly future operations should take place post SP campaign, in another place and with other enemies, but I also reckon several present operations should be reworked in order to sever the connection with the SP campaign. 


In order to move away from Talasa and the SP game, you would need to get rid of the preset characters, and give players the possibility to customize their own space marines, starting with their name (many space marines have their name written on a scroll on their right pauldron, and I know I do not like to play with brother PottyTrained07), and an array of emotes which are pretty much standard since the times of CoD (I will signal the very obvious lack of an I NEED HELP emote for example), changing the ones on the second page to either fit the ultramarine and its successors, or getting rid of them completely as I have never heard one of them ever.


In short, a more standard design will allow for more expansion, and inclusion, and above all longevity, to the game mode and the game in general.

Couldnt agree more . Talasa ops were fine at the start , but then It became both boring and limiting  content possibilities  and its time to get rid of them . I think that face customization would also improve alot the " this is my own marine " feeling and along with what you said about standardizing that aspect of the game would only be beneficial for everyone. The command of the new horde mode/battlefields or operations could be assigned to a standard " Captain blablabus" , who cares  . The battles could be put in a context of post campaign , where the captain Is commanding the company as a whole and not referring to a specific named characters. In that way they could add the First Company Veterans (the firstborn one for example, whose weaponry choice would also allow the players to experience way more different loadouts combination and , therefore, different playstyles, but thats also up to Games Workshop , which notoriously behave in an antiplayers way)or other companies that joins the fight in order to help .  The lines of dialogues could be more general , like " First Company, we need to hold the line and reconquer this or that" , i think most of us would be fine about it if the gain is an expanded customization and content in that direction , It would be so much better
