Easy Anti Cheat

When I hit play on the Steam page the "Initializing" screen comes up then the screen goes blank for a few seconds then it crashes to the Steam page with the above error message.
I have Verified the Integrity of the installation files as suggested but it makes no difference.
I don't have the time or the knowledge to mess about trying to get this thing to work.....When you are paying over £50 for a game you don't expect to have to.....It should just work!
Deeply disappointed. And yes, my PC more than matches the optimum build for this.
Please advise how to fix as I don't want to have to ask for a refund and actually just want to play this game.
