(Add multiple class choice in private operations)

image_2024-08-29_153924267.png(Proof they don't intend to add it)

As it is not planned to make it able to use the same classes in operations mode, I plead....

-IF NOT UNIVERSALLY, AT LEAST ENABLE IT FOR PRIVATE SESSIONS.

-Allow players to select the same classes in Operations mode, at least in private sessions with friends. While PvP restrictions make sense for balance, PvE should prioritize fun and roleplay.
-Enable full class flexibility in private sessions. For instance, a squad of all Bulwarks or multiple Assaults can create unique and engaging experiences.
-This change won't impact game balance since it’s restricted to private, cooperative play. It empowers players to tailor their strategies, enhance creativity, and fully immerse in roleplay.
-In a private setting, any balance issues can be easily managed by adjusting the game difficulty or style, making this a non-issue.-

Let players enjoy the freedom to play how they want in private sessions!

Nice to have

The NICE TO HAVE status is given by the dev team to ideas they would like to have in the game.

Hello,
Thank you for your feedback, we will see if we can come up with a solution later during live ops.

An absolute must have, I want to have triple tacs or assaults in my groups. Having multiple classes made it easier in the first game, so I don't get the "It is for balance" argument, everyone picking one class will weaken the team due to lack of variety, making the game harder, which is player choice and honestly a good thing for most players who want a challange. Forget private, this needs to be universal.

I'm not overly sold on allowing duplicate classes in PvE.  I can understand the want, but my concern is balance and design - and more importantly - future content.

A question that would need to be answered is how the interplay of powers happens.  Can you have 3 Chapter Banners making you invincible?  Can you have 3 auspex readings that ramp your damage to insane levels?

Now, let's think about the potential future content - 3 librarians?  3 terminators?  3 apothecaries?  And then the devs have to answer how 3 of these new classes work together and synergize.  Or do we just overpower the system?

Also, what if Saber is able to up the number of playable characters in co-op?  How does having 4-6 of a single class work?

Again, I understand the fact that having three dudes jetpacking everywhere is fun and everyone will want to play their favorite class - but I think this leads itself to locking down creativity of future content.  From a gamer standpoint - I understand the desire.  From a game mechanic standpoint - I think this could eventually lead to weird balance patches and changes as the game was designed for only one of each class.

100% agree with this. Just bin the class restrictions - especially in ops! You would get a triumvirate of any of these classes elsewhere (such as in the campaign and on the tabletop)...

A little bit of a double dip wouldn't be too terrible. They could even incentivize it by having a bonus for running no duplicate classes.

... or duplicate classes being used means buffs are disabled and it's down to pure tactical acumen and foot slogging! Or at least turn off "fanciful" buffs like banner planting... Sticking a banner in the mud wouldn't really reinforce armour, in fact it would serve as a target for the enemy! (That's a Helreach joke btw) 😜

I agree with this 100% If someone wants to level a class up but can’t due to someone playing the class it locks freedom and exploration for that class. If we have unlocked classes, yes we can have tactical marine squads which is nice, and also makes the game harder (which is player choice) with tactical’s they cannot do have sweeps with a grav hammer, or focus on enemy targets with the vanguard’s zip gun. However the ai should be able to respond to it. Let players have their own choice and creativity!

Definitely need this. In PvE there's no worry about balance because it's just for fun. In PVP obviously you have to worry more about balance so probably not a good idea there.

disagree, pve is balance as well otherwise people will cheese. The solution to this is just have a mode that you do not get rewards but you can play any class you want

Class Restrictions should go. If people want it to stay, at least put a toggle option just like crossplay. People who want freedom can choose to toggle it to "no restriction" while others can toggle restriction on. Of course people would be matching/joining games according to their chosen option. For balance purposes, stacking of same powers can be removed, maybe some minor tweaks would be implemented but the perfect balance shouldn't be the priority here. Slight advantage or slight disadvantage both should be acceptable for same class teams. Besides, who cares? This isn't a MMORPG, there is no ranking in this game either(and it should not be either), who cares if allowing same classes would be a little bit imbalanced? Do you lose anything over it? No. If you choose the restriction toggle option, will it affect you? No. Just let people play/experience the game as they would like to, PvE should not be treated like PvP.
Like I said, put a toggle option, let people enjoy their own experience.
PS: As an example, Deep Rock Galactic has such a system where you can host games with or without class restrictions. An Extraction Horde Shooter, a PvE game.

Class restrictions in pve is extremely silly. If people want to sit in three bulwark banners who cares. It literally has no effect on anyone else. This whole "people will cheese" thing is ridiculous. It doesn't transfer over to pvp, there are no raids or any gatekeep that matters, so why not stop trying to dictate other people's fun? This same mindset killed helldivers. If devs are that concerned about skills, just make the same skills not stack. Done

This game is really NOT that serious

+1
This will also help extend the replay value of the game so we can try different team make-ups with friends!

Agree but not only in private. Not all of us have 2 friends who can afford 80$ game and have time to play it. It is so annoying to quit and rejoin game becasue someone else picked my class first. BOTS WILL NOT BE OFFENDED THAT TEAM IS OP. Let us play as we want!!!

I think they should do the same thing as pvp where you can have two of one class. that way it greatly reduces the likelihood of players leaving while also making sure the squad isn't under equipped for the mission
