Playing through the campaign, it would be nice to use the abilities and perks of our operations characters.
Playing through the operations, it would be nice to have additional missions to play through.


Could the campaign missions be altered to make a set of playable operations?


The narrative duality created between the campaign and operations is great. But I don't think the masses would mind straying from that specific narrative structure if that means we get:
- Another way to experience the campaign (through our Operation characters)
- More Operations (for free and in addition to road-map content, soon TM)

I would love to play the Campaign with the ability to deep customise my class as one of the 3 Ultramarine characters - In campaign mode

In operations I would love to play the Campaign missions with my full customised Class/Chapter

Both of these would be great

I think it would take some adjustments, and maybe marking them as a sort of AU missions (Titus takes over a different mission, you have to do his original mission) to set them apart from the canon operations, but I was going to suggest something similar.


As for adjustments I think are needed:

-rework jump pack sections to be playable without jump packs

-rework or replace ripper swarms to make mission possible without Pyreblaster (even if we get them in operations eventually)

-remove exchangeable weapons and set up loadout exchange spots

-rework cutscenes and dialogue

-implement operations spawn system

-maybe rework some boss fights to work better for Operations (Imurah in the end is just frustrating with his constant disappearing acts)


I'm not entirely sure what end and mid boss fights to keep as is, especially since it also depends on what other potential enemies we may or may not get in the future. For example the Neurothrope could be replaced by a battery of Biovores, a Tyrannofex, an Exocrine, a Maleceptor or a Neurotyrant easily and still make sense for the narrative, if we go either of these, but not so much by a Carnifex, even one with ranged loadout.


Overall, I think it would be well worth it to get a bunch more missions we can play in operations way faster than completely new ones.

Heck, I would love to have the same for the first game, though I highly doubt that would ever happen (the games are way too different).

An easy fix for Titus would be to just replace the one of the 3 characters with Titus and just keep the loadout.

That way you can keep the dialog and still play with a full operations team.

Absolutely agree. They could even lock those 6 additional missions behind completing the campaign if they are worried about spoilers. As you say it would be a great way for them to add more ops without needing to build them entirely from scratch. Some of the campaign missions might even be able to be cut into multiple ops missions as the campaign missions are a bit longer than the ops missions are on average.

Love this idea! It would be a good way to get extra Ops. Maybe the Ops version is written in a way that titus and crew when on the ops mission instead? For example titus an co blow up the swarm on Kadaku and you go on the extraction mission?

I was about to make a post about this, glad to see there's already one. 
I hope the devs will use campaign content for PvE Missions, 6 is not enough and it would permit them to add more missions without too much work.

I think this is exactly the variety the operations need. We have 6 original operations and then we could have these for more variety.

I really like the operations and their quality, but having more variety is always good.

I made a post saying I thought it would be awesome if the customization and gear was in the campaign from operations. this would be a great option as well. Awesome idea if you don't mind checking out my post and giving your thoughts on its implementation that would be awesome because I love this idea.

nah just the subtitles will say Operator 1 and 2

Spot on TOMinator, your Neurothrope idea is a great example of how a campaign mission can be re-structured to work in our Operation characters while giving us a new way to experience the already stellar content!

I like this idea, feels like a good way to quickly get some more Operations maps available.


I'd argue alot of the narrative should be stripped out though or maybe re-worked.


Like; if you take that mission to kill the Neurothrope, the veteran sergeant you encounter should maybe be removed? Or perhaps re-worked in some way. 


Maybe Saber could even completely split some of these out as entirely unique missions - its not a neurothrope anymore its the Doom of Malantai for example.

Do you mean allowing us to play operation characters in the campaign?

If so, that's kind of the compromise I was going for (assuming it's not so easy as just replacing Decimus with Titus in the campaign) because as things stand now, we don't earn any significant account progression through campaign completion e.g. perks, weapons, cosmetics, etc.... It would be nice to play through a curated version of the campaign levels as our Operation characters, earning perks and leveling gear as we go.
