Given that spacehulks can be basically anything from buildings pulled up from warp storms, crashed ships, asteroids/meteroers, etc. They likely could be randomly assembled using a prebuilt library of hall ways, rooms, and objectives.

A type of game mode with endless replayability could be made similar to rifting in diablo 3, and dungeons in diablo 4.

The team of 3 could deploy to the space hulk to investigate via Thunder hawk. The investigation could lead to several objectives from detonate a power core to destroy it, capture Intel and escape, kill the enemy and stop the engines, turn off external turrets, wipe ships cogitators, recover a relic of the chapter, investigate missing fireteam, etc.

The layout (as previously stated) could be randomly generated from a predefined library of sections (if the library is big enough every single time it generated a hulk it would feel unique).

The reward: this is the part that would need insight into the future plan for sm2. The reward would need to be something that grew with time and difficulty. You wouldn't just want it to be a currency grinder, and you'd probably want a leaderboard for the hardest hulk defeated and the time.

Difficulty: select a difficulty from the list (already exists), select number of objectives (determines length of mission and quality of reward), turn on modifiers that increase or decrease difficulty. All of these toggles would have a number associated to them in the background, and each map piece from the library would also have a number (a rough difficulty calculation of potential enemy density, amount of cover, etc), the total of all the difficulty numbers would be the rifts overall level (for the leaderboard).

As one can imagine this would allow for infinite replayability as long as the reward and the leaderboard are done right.

Sounds like you would enjoy Space Hulk: Deathwing! Having maps like that sounds interesting, like SH:D getting given a random objective on the map for variety adds to replayability.

Good callout, great game. I think it would be a great addition to sm2. Seeing as shd is 7 years old now (for the enhanced edition)
