Let us actually flip the obelisk in obelisk

Every action we can do gets its own little animation, from pressing elevator buttons to charging las cannons and crushing chaos orbs.

They're little things, sure, but they add so much to the immersion while playing. You feel like a space marine even when you're just making your way to the next area. And you're doing it as YOUR Space Marine. One that you've spent countless hours grinding to get the best gear and kitting out in the armoury hall with the finest drip the imperium has to offer.

With this latest operation, we get some fun new gameplay sections like the moving terrain and chaos corrupted darkness sections, but I can't help but feel like the basic stuff was forgotten about. From the very beginning, flipping the obelisk is the goal. You make your way to the end of the operation, and the one action you've fought through hordes of enemies to accomplish, you don't even get to see!

You simply hold down a button and are greeted with a cutscene that most players will immediately skip to get back to the battlebarge. It sucks to see, because in the campaign, a big focus is put on flipping these obelisks and the level of effort it takes to do so.

It'd be great to see even a small animation be added, similar to those actions I mentioned before, of OUR characters flipping the obeslisk, just like Titus, Gadriel and Chairon did, before the final cutscene starts. Or better yet, as suggested by Scarbeus in the comments below, make it a button mash or analogue stick wiggle event, similar to when an extremis enemy grabs us! It would be a great bit of interactivity for the player, to show the struggle of turning the obelisk and add tension should we choose to do so while there are still enemies around!

We get to perform some defining action in every other operation, so why not in the one where it's arguably the most important to be able to do so in?

I've written more than I originally set out to, and I understand even a small animation like this would take a lot of work, but I hope this gets implemented at some point and we get to see enjoy that last little moment of immersion before the cutscene hits.

That said, I wanna say thanks to the devs for all the work they're putting into making this game the best it can be, you've restored my faith in gaming brothers.

Exactly! I know a full blown rendered or real-time cutscene is borderline impossible given the fact our player characters in operation can have any number of different appearances and it's just out of scope realistically.

What I'd want would be something like the small animation you get when performing an action in game. It would be a part of gameplay, we hold the button to flip the obelisk, our player character grabs it and turns it in his hand, then the cutscene starts playing to end the mission.

Considering you can do this with plenty of enemies still around, instead of just giving it an animation remember how it was difficult to turn these things so they got Chairon to turn it with his robot arm? Let's also see players do the same a-d-a-d-a-d that you do when a Ravener grabs you to you get to see your own marine struggle to turn it. Now you have to decide if you want to clear all the enemies before turning the obelisk or if you dare to try and turn it while being shot at? Both immersion and suspense!

Hello Brother!
I read your discord message about this post, and it would be awesome to see our operations protagonist, reunited with the Titus at the end mission.
I'm going to forward this to the proper team, so they can take a look at it!
