issue

Space Marine franchise is all about power fantasy, and difficulties above minimal have severely damaged it by making marines feel extremely weak and brittle against tyranids. not to mention the lengths to which lethal difficulty did it... too bad anything below lethal is unplayable to players like me due to how negligible the challenge level of other difficulties is, making it impossible to engage us in the game.

solution

don't make the absolute difficulty turn marines EVEN WEAKER against tyranids, but instead simply throw more/bigger tyranids at the marines. higher chance for larger enemies would be a more hardware-friendly alternative to more tyranid numbers i believe, if that's your concern.

to increase the difficulty further, extend respawn timer and remove bots to make marines feel more like a scarce resource they supposed to be. also remove all stimulants and armor boosts so the players can finally be self-reliant instead of turning the game into an abhorrent rat race of looking around every corner for these stupid boxes every time, and racing to stimulant spawn locations, ignoring all tyranids. let us immerse ourselves in the battlefield instead of making us search for stupid boxes or rush to stimulant spawn locations.

Respawn timer shouldnt be increased and supplies should not be decreased. More respawn time just wouldn't be worth the wait and if they increase the numbers of enemies the supplies will already be more scarce as a result anyway. All we need is more enemies to keep us busy, focused and careful.
