1. Small Animation Scenes for PVE Missions
One of the most impactful yet subtle ways to improve immersion in Space Marine 2 is by incorporating small animation sequences during PVE missions. For example, when players land on a planet or arrive at a mission location, a brief cinematic can showcase their Thunderhawk descent, deployment from a drop pod, or storming a battlefield.
These sequences don't need to be lengthy; even 10-15 seconds of a well-crafted scene can set the tone for the mission, enhancing the narrative and building excitement. Similarly, after completing a major mission objective, adding scenes like marines regrouping, a briefing from their captain, or even a dramatic escape as the environment collapses around them would significantly elevate the player's experience.
Though a small addition, these animations inject a sense of grandeur and weight to every mission, making players feel like part of an epic war effort. YOU CAN ALWAYS SKIP THE SCENE OFCOURSE IF YOU WANT.
2. Introducing an Invasion/Siege Gamemode (PVPVE) - IDEA GOES TO TEMPLAR 1999
I won't talk much about it is explained in TEMPLAR1999 page ideas but I can give you the overview:
Overview
The Siege would pit two teams against each other: the Invaders and the Defenders. The map is split into multiple sectors, with the Invaders tasked with breaking through the Defenders' lines to destroy a critical asset at the heart of the base. Alongside the player combat, each side is aided by AI-controlled units.
My Take On This
The Imperium fighting against Chaos Heretics in massive battles, where players engage in intense warfare between the two factions. Both sides must manage their strategies while dealing with external environmental hazards, such as Tyranid swarms.
Alternatively, the Imperium fighting against Xenos in a pure PVE invasion mode. This scenario could feature missions where Space Marines must defend critical locations from overwhelming Tyranid forces or undertake offensive operations deep into alien territory.
Though Orks haven’t yet been introduced, they could be added as part of a future update, expanding the pool of NPC threats and adding variety to the game. The mode could involve:
Dynamic Objectives: Capture points, destroy enemy defenses, or secure resources to bolster your forces.
NPC Threats: Both teams (or the Imperium alone in PVE) face random incursions or neutral enemies that can alter the tide of battle.
Heroic Moments: Players earning high scores or completing critical objectives could temporarily deploy as other classes such as: Terminatos, Dreadnoughts, Centurions, Chaplains and even Titans.
Additionally, vehicles like Land Raiders, Rhinos, and Stormravens could be introduced, offering tactical mobility and firepower. Players could coordinate their roles, with some piloting vehicles while others support on foot.
3. Special Events with Chapter-Based Collaboration
Incorporating special events where players from different Space Marine Chapters unite for massive battles could be a highlight feature. For example, a timed event might bring Ultramarines, Blood Angels, and Space Wolves together to fight against a massive Tyranid Hive Fleet invasion or defend a Forge World.
Alternatively, events could focus on a single chapter, allowing players to experience the unique culture and tactics of their chosen brotherhood. For instance:
Chapter-Exclusive Operations: Groups of 20 or more players, all from the same Chapter, could undertake special missions that align with their chapter’s traditions. Ultramarines might defend an imperial stronghold, while Space Wolves might lead a ferocious assault against Xenos.
Chapter Objectives: Missions tailored to the specific fighting style of a chapter, such as stealth-based objectives for the Raven Guard or siege warfare for the Imperial Fists.
Prestige Rewards: Completing these chapter-based events could unlock exclusive cosmetics, relics, and titles, further reinforcing faction pride.
Since this is a game, developers could also use this opportunity to craft unique narratives that go beyond the traditional lore.
4. Open Map Design Inspired by Helldivers 2
This is something I've heard some friends talked about. They mentioned how the game sometimes feels repetitive, which is completely understandable. One suggestion discussed was introducing a mode similar to Helldivers 2, where players could explore a bit more.
I myself don't really mind that much about how the mission work and I don't have any thoughts nor opinions about this, but thought I could bring this up to see if you guys in Focus Entertainment/Together, Sabre Interactive and the ones reading can do/think about.
Ending (THANK YOU FOR READING)
These are just some of my own thoughts and ideas, and I want to give full credit to Templar1999 for the invasion/siege gamemode concept. I felt it was important to mention this since I really liked the idea, and it inspired me to create my own take on it. I also want to apologize if I’ve unintentionally borrowed ideas from others—I simply wrote down my thoughts as they came to me when I joined this site.
