While prestige levels are just great for game longevity. Some (I believe many) people would be happy to not lose their favourite build and being unable to go for higher difficulties during the "prestiging" process


There is a "best industry practice" introduced for such case in Payday 2 game. There are also prestige levels  (called "Infamy") that originally required level reset when at max level. After a while developers introduced a second option to go Infamous - a separate XP bar (available when at max level) that fills up and can be turned into a new Infamy level when full. Of course leveling from 1 to max level requires significantly less XP in total than filling that bar, but you don't need to reset your level and a build every time (and playing only higher difficulties also helps with XP farm). And level reset is still an option to get a new Infamous level (you can do it either way)


Something similar is nice to have in this amazing game too
