I have this bug. And once the cutscene ended I get a black and white screen. I tried everything.. (Drivers up to date, Windows up to date, Different drive, Verifying steam files).

I'm getting a similar issue. My game freezes and crashes at the first cutscene and am unable to play the game.
System Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 3050
RAM: 16 GIG
This should NOT be happening. Devs Please do some optimizing or something. Even after setting graphics to "Ultra-Performance" the game still crashes.

Launch game via Steam Launcher

After game loads, select "New Game" and select difficulty

Cutscene begins and game crashes.

The game is installed on an ssd i have updated drivers everything is up to date i dont have any weird characters in my name. The new patch didnt fix it

I change my STEAM NAME TAG and it worked!! Just remove the especial characters from your name.
my name was Gustaf<372 🍹🌴 And i changed to Gustaf3S2. AND i got pass the Black and White screen!!
TELL THEM MY BROTHERS. SPREAD THY WORDS!!!

tried multiple fixes, but being on Xbox at limited as to what I can do. Sort of making me wish I could get a refund… spent 60£ just to not be able to play the game.

Just adding to this and stating that my issues started with yesterday's patch. I've submitted a ticket to Saber as well but Nvidia and SM2 released updates yesterday and I believe one of them now interferes with the game launching. Before that patch, I found that running the executable file as an administrator bypassed the issue so I was able to play some.
I'd also like to note that I've followed every recommendation outlined in Focus' support thread here:

And I've heeded the suggestions found on Steam forums and subreddits but none seemingly have an effect. It is my opinion that when the game launches and initiates the Epic Games client, that something is preventing the handshake to the servers and it simply stalls out.
Lastly, I'd like to state that the crash report tool is broken and unable to send reports due to an improper installation. I really can't figure that one out either. I've verified that nothing is being obstructed by firewalls or security applications. The game simply cannot load past the first few title credits and sits on a black screen until it crashes.

I got the game right on the 9th and I still haven't been able to play.

I installed the patch, put all the settings to the lowest. I'm running on a (Windows 11 / i7-8700K CPU / GTX 1080 / 32.0 GB ram)

and I still can't get past the opening cutscene.

I pre ordered the game, and it was working fine last weekend. Then I changed the resolution and now it won’t work. It’s been nearly 5 days, I have all the system requirements and I’ve done pretty much everything under the sun to get this game to run. The update didn’t help at all

I'm exhibting exactly these issues. Have changed and/or rebooted 10 times for different attempts.

i9-13900KF 3200 Mhz 24 Cores 32 log proc

32 GB memory

Nvidia Geforce 4070 TI

Updated drivers, no windows updates avail, stopped all AV, started only required apps at startup, verified files, redownloaded.

I purchased the Ultimate Edition of the game, but up until today, I haven't even seen the first cutscene, let alone actually played the game.

After launching the game, all I get is a black screen, with the mouse cursor constantly spinning, and within less than a minute, a "Crash Dump Sending Utility" warning pops up.

I can't identify the cause of the crash (as shown in images 1 and 2). I've tried many solutions from YouTube and Reddit, but none of them worked (including adjusting GPU settings, CPU settings, Steam launch options, firewall, reinstalling game libraries, etc.). I cannot provide the KSIVA code because I have never actually entered the game.

After launching the game via start_protected_game.exe, I get a warning pop-up, as shown in image 3.

I hope you can address this issue with a new patch.

I start the game and it loads for at least 10 min.

Then it even has FPS issues in the main menu.

When starting, the video freezes and the sound keeps going, then the game crashes.

I just bought the game and have been trying all the fixes for the past 2 hours.

Highly dissappointed
