Incorrect Dark Angels Cosmetics

When you make a game based around a hobby of building and painting models, real hobbyists will notice when you don't get the details right, so it'd be nice to see a little more effort on the QA side. Theres a whole host of minor things wrong in this game that I haven't posted here, or elsewhere. Im only pointing out the blatantly obvious issues I come across. Let's do better, maybe? Or at least actually look at a factions codex for 5 minutes?

The new DA cosmetic pack is rife with blatant inaccuracies. And for a PAID DLC that doesn't feel very good.

Starting out with one of the most obvious, they only added the DA specific battleline icon, leaving out the DA fire support icon, and the close support icon with the DA specific gothic numeral squad number as opposed to roman. On top of this, they even mislabeled the battleline icon as fire support, which is odd seeing as they are two completely different symbols. (see image below for DA battlefield role icons and incorrect one in game)

Untitled5.png

Sticking to the theme of battlefield roles, they even went through the effort of making a second battleline icon (again, also mislabeled as "fire support") With a thinner arrow and a circle (Which is actually supposed to be a diamond shape, not a circle), only used by a single successor chapter (bringers of judgement). Seems odd to go through the effort of doing that, and not even provide us with the other 2 basic battle role markings of close support and fire support that the vast majority of dark angels successor chapters use. (see image below)

Untitled6.png

Again, on the theme of iconography/heraldry, they got the deathwing shoulder symbol wrong. They got the kneepad ones correct, but somehow didn't carry that over to the shoulder pad. The sword and wings should be red, not white and gold, and the sword should be broken in the middle of the blade. (They got the broken sword part right for the kneepads, but not on the shoulder...) I get that you can change the color to make it right, but the sword is meant to be broken. The broken blade / shame is a pretty big theme for the deathwing.

Untitled7.png

Another inaccuracy, Dark angels weapon casings are red. Not sure where the green weapon casings on the DLC weapons came from. Dark Angels have never been shown with green guns. Whoever is designing cosmetics for this game is just making stuff up. Also the DA aren't exactly fans of a whole ton of filigree and décor like these weapons have, they tend to use very little ornamentation.

Untitled3.pngUntitled4.png

Unfortunately we didn't get a dark angels sergeant's helm either, that would've been nice to see, but oh well. (see image below)

79adfc8f-cdcd-4834-ab99-3cfee7e30df5.png

For a PAID DLC I'd expect things to be right, and at least have the basics covered. All of these inaccuracies could've been avoided had the design team actually looked at a dark angels codex, as all this is described in detail in there. The attention to detail on this cosmetic pack feels EXTREMELY lazy, the ultramarine's cosmetic pack had some stuff wrong, but this one has a lot. I expect much better out a paid product.

The fact that GW cared little enough to let these errors, and all the others in the game, through QA is disheartening.

I sincerely wish I hadn't bought the gold edition of this game. I thought the season pass would provide a ton of cool cosmetics, but the amount of inaccuracies is crazy. I would've never bought the season pass knowing that this was the standard for the cosmetic design.

To add to that, it's true that they never mentioned voiceovers, but when I bought the game I didnt know the whole Operations section wouldve been completely filled with Ultramarine references. All space marines i have played that allowed other chapters were at the very least neutral, but here I feel like I've spent 30 shekels to let Ultramarines cosplay as DarkAngels. And it is also rather short sighted, as I do not see how Space Wolves fan to spend any money for having their Russ' cubs talk like stuck up butlers.

Agreed. I thought there would be a lot more cosmetic options. Many missed opportunities.

Yea it's sad. Also hoped the few things they did give us would at least be correct.

It isn't overly expensive to add voice packs for each chapter.

Each Champion should have unique voice lines that we can use for other characters so we have variety.

I couldn't wait on Saber so I have a completely voice acted soundboard for each class.  It isn't perfect representation of a Space Marine, but they are fun and feel good to use.

By the way, they also left out Deathwing Bladeguard right pauldron's veteran icon and Ravenwing right pauldron's squad number. And I hope there would be Ravenwing Black Knight pauldron also.

That wierd traditional style veteran marking that GW did in the launch boxes always seemed wierd to me, the DA have had an established veteran marking of the upturned sword for a while (lieutenant is a downturned sword) so they at least have that veteran symbol. The squad number you could use the """fire support""" (really battleline) marking and turn the arrow black maybe?

Yes, exactly. NEVER has a dark angel been shown with a green gun. Its like they never looked. Especially at the battle role icons.

If people have been making various suggestions of things to change and to add, and it's sometimes been said that they can't because Games Workshop needs to give them the go ahead, then how did they manage to put in all this inaccurate content?

Exactly. Lately GW has been very lax on this themselves. The lore/painting/modelling departments do not converse. GW themselves are just as much to blame, but all saber had to do was open the dark angels codex for 5 minutes...

Yes, I'm not using the skin too, as it's just made in wrong way, green weapons? 😅 Wtf heresy it's this?... Idk, I've pay the pass and the edition, and gets just nothing? I've hoped to bring champion pack and a lot more cosmetic but no 🤔... Now they have ruined the parry mechanic too, really I'm regretting the purchase of this edition, should have purchased the standard one and stop, all this hype all this love from the players, all this money we spent on it, and we get wrong paid skins 😅 and melee nerfs (another one)... Hope they will bring some serious work on this game, but this update it's really really BAD from the skins, to the gameplay.

Yea i wouldnt care as much if this stuff was free... but to pay for REPEATEDLY incorrect skins is insane. I had high hopes for this game and now it feels like an empty money grab.

Totally agree, not to mention Skin like the Lourd Ultramarines. I'm one of those who have the Season Pass and still can't unlock it. Since 4.0, everything has been done to put us off playing this game, which is basically fabulous.

Making us pay for incorrect skins, and not even giving them to some of the people who buy them. Great.

"We are working really close with GW to make sure we get every just right." Yea right. More like "We don't give a shit about the hobby, or the hobbyists. We just want to sell a game"

Don't even get me started on how the space marines voices sound like normal people, not 9 foot tall 800lb demigods, and how most of them act like angry teenagers instead of THE ANGELS OF DEATH.

Correct me if im wrong, but also the legs of deathwatch armour are incorrect.  I noticed that they are Primaris legs with the "spherical things"  on the bottom sides of the greaves. And given that Titus was still a firstborn in the prologue...

Completely crazy, while others have unlocked it. I paid for the DLC like them, but I can't get it without buying a new edition, that's normal.

Fortunately, I didn't have any problems with the Dark Angels DLC, but I'm thinking that it could very well happen to me again, and I'd be screwed in the same way.

I don't even dare uninstall and reinstall the game (to try and force the unlocking of this Skin), because the last time I did that, I lost all the cosmetics and colors from the basic DLC I'd unlocked. I had to buy everything again with the in-game currency. At the time, I was still playing a lot on Normal difficulty to finish Relics without pressure, and I'd lost a lot of hours of gameplay as a result.

Worse still, I'd made sure that my local and online saves (I play on Xbox) were ok and I'd connected my P.R.O.S. account. I hadn't done anything forbidden, I'd done everything recommended to avoid problems.

When I contacted Focus, after several replies from the Servo-Servants of the soulless Mechanicus, they finally told me that I was out of luck and that there was nothing they could do (so get a move on man, we've got no time, we've got to break stuff in the game for the next patch).

It could have been worse, as I've read on the Forum for others who have lost much more. So too bad, I'll do without, even if it's unfair and I love collecting everything, I'm a big fan of 30k and 40k.

Yea that's awful. Getting an "oh well" on something you paid for is insane.
